1000 watts stereo amplifier

I recently purcahsed both a 1000 watt subwoofer and a 1000 watt stereo, and i need to know if i need an amplifier to go with my subwoofer or if i can just plug it into my stereo.

only if they are both 1000 watts RMS, and only if their ohm loads match.

These things kick so hard. not to mention how difficult it was wiring them correctly. all coils in parallel and the subs themselves in series to ...

I am buying a stereo system for my car. So, If I buy one 1000 watt Sub, then do I need 1000 watt amp or less wattage??

And If I buy 2 1000 watt Subs, then can I still use a 1000 watt amplifier??

Also, What sounds the best, 2 10 inch subs, or one 12 inch 1000 watt??

There's no good way to compare subs just based on the size of the cone.

10" is usually more crisp than 12", whic is more crisp than 15"

However,

15" is usually deeper and louder than 12" which is deeper and louder than 10"

If you've never had subwoofers before, I suggest you get yourself 1 12" sub rated for approximately 300 watts RMS, and find an amp that can do that as well.

Check the resistance on the sub, find one that is 4 ohm. Then, pick out a Class A Stereo amp that is "stable at 4 ohm bridged" for 300 watt rms. It should be plenty.

It's also important to pick the right sub. Ask around and see what subs are good for you to get. Punch subs by Rockford Fosgate have always been a good starter sub.

And for some more of the technical stuff, if you have 1 sub that is rated for 400 watts rms, then you should buy an amp rated for 400 watts rms. If you have 2 subs that are rated for 400 watts rms, then you're going to have to step it up and buy a sub that is 800 watts rms, or 400x2 watts rms.

a stereo amplifier is rated at 150w @ 1000 Hz. the power output drops by 10dB @ 15kHz. What is the power output in watts at 15 kHz

10 dB is a ratio of 10:1 for power, so the output is 150w/10 = 15 watts.

Can u use 2 amps to power one sub?
say that i want to power a 1000 rms sub
kicker comp vx 4 ohms
then can i use two
KAC-9104D amps to power the sub??
because i only found like 4 amps that power the sub alone
