Where can i find a 6/2 meter antenna?

I need a 6/2 meter antenna for my father's ham radio. please if you have any info tell me. Thank you soo much! Happy holidays!!!!

I've been a licensed ham for many years, and I don't recall of hearing of a 6/2 meter antenna, ever. An L/2, meaning lambda/2, I've heard of...that's just a half wave antenna.
But in any case, ham radio antennas are very frequency specific, or at least band specific.
Your best bet is to first be certain of the mode of operation (whether you want a vertical or horz. polarized antenna) , and the band or bands you want to cover, and go visit one of these websites--

How can i connect my desktop pc to the linksys wireless 6 meters away?

Hello, I just reinstalled windows xp pro to on my desktop. i want to connect to the wireless internet(at home) via the antenna i have on my pc. The antenna is linksys and so is the wireless router... please help

Your linksys wireless adapter, I'm going to assume it's external and connects via USB. When you plug it in, Windows will automatically detect the device and try to find software to instally the device. If it can't find it, you should find the disc that came with your adapter and install with that.

Once you have the software installed, then you should be able to access a wireless network menu down by your clock, right click on that and there should be a view networks or connect to networks type message (not sure of the exact wording).

Once in there find a network named Linksys, there likely will only be one, but if there is more than one, pick the one with the best signal. Then hit connect and you should be on in about 30 seconds.

P.S. You might consider securing your network to keep people on the outside from getting in. http://www.datastronghold.com/security-a rticles/general-security-articles/wirele ss-router--security-a-step-by-step-guide .html

What is the rectangular prisam at the top of the Hanckcock Center in Chicago and what are its dimensions?

The thing I am talking about is on the roof of the main building and is about 6.2 meters tall. The antenna are on its roof.

Dean, why not ask the building designers? That information, at least for the building designers should be on the web. If you go that route, do yourself 1 big favor, spell "prism" correctly. The word is correctly spelled as I have rendered it. Your spelling is incorrect.

How does autopatch in amateur radio work?

Hey everyone, I'm a new ham, and I recently got my tech license. I have a Icom IC-T90A HT, and a 10ft high gain Comet BP-15 triband antenna (6 meter, 2 meter, and 70 cm). The HT is also a triband of those same bands. I also have the stock rubber duck and a dual band magmount for my car (2 meter, 70 cm). I am also quite electronically and wirelessly privy thanks to my great Elmer, so feel free to use all the jargon you want.

Anyway, I was wondering how phone patch works. Specifically, how to tell the repeater's (probably) automated controller the number, if it only works with toll-free numbers, and if it only should be used for emergencies or serious phone calls.

I have a bunch of questions, but I do know some. the T-90A has DTMF tones (push the PTT, then hit a key on the keypad.) I've heard that the autopatch repeater usually has some sort of activation code. The repeater I'm using is WA6TOW, a West Coast repeater, also the only repeater in range of me that supports autopatch. I don't even know if there is a activation code. But I've never heard anyone using autopatch. It also supports regular FM voice. I believe it's linked with a closed repeater.

Information about the repeater and the club that runs them is here:

Oh boy...
I'm rambling...I asked a ham who was on the repeater once why the repeater identified in CW AND a computerized voice, and he said that the CW was required by FCC, and the voice was the autopatch repeater...autopatching. It seems the autopatch repeater is linked with the repeater I was talking to him on.

This is some information about the repeaters and the club that owns them:

Thanks for the help!

Whups...put the club's URL twice...it's three in the morning, okay?

The best way to find out, is visit the club or ask a club memeber. There are open autopatches and closed ones (meaning for club/repeater supporters only). If the patch is open, the information is usually listed in the "ARRL Repeater Guide".

Autopatches are usually controlled by touch tone, a special sequence is used to pull up the connection. Then DTMF is passed to the phone line. Disconnect is usually also a sequence - often just the # or * key.
Check with the club.
