Am Antenna

My boss would like to install an antenna outside or inside that would boost the am and fm reception in a building that has high power lines arround. What is your best idea? He is cheap so anything that would cost him over fifty bucks he wouldnt accept. However if you know of something that can be made or found in a pawn shop, all ideas are acceptable.

I recently bought a converter box w/ analog pass through. I am only receiving 2 digital stations. Any ideas on why I can't get any other digital stations? My antenna is digital ready. Do I need to get a better antenna?

I want to get a HD projector for the super bowl, The only HD antenna's I am finding are a coaxlial cable. Does anyone know if there is an antenna that goes into a rca or hdmi jack? The Projector does not have a coaxial cable hook up. Any suggestions would be great.

the projector does not have a hd tuner in it. you need to buy a seperate tuner and plug it into your projector.

I'm a truck driver and move my AM/FM/CB antennas alot and am having trouble picking up AM stations. At present I'm using a 48" francis AM/FM antenna. Would I make out better with a steel whip or a signal booster? I'm wide open for suggestions. I like to listen to talk radio when I'm driving at night.

Any antenna that is small enough to fit on a moving vehicle will be less than ideal for the AM radio band. Most mobile radio antennas are actually cut to a length of around 30 inches to match the FM radio band. An equivalent antenna to match the AM band would be approximately 224 feet long.

However, many AM car radios do have a tuning adjustment to compensate for AM antenna length. This is sometimes accessible from a hole in the front of the radio so it can be adjusted without removing the radio. Ask a car audio tech for help in optimizing this adjustment.

The AM/FM antenna wire is cut right behind the cd deck in my car. Instead of going through and replacing the whole thing is it possible to splice a new antenna wire into the old one, or do they make an adaptor to do this? any other suggestions to get my radio working again let me know!

i would not do it, I believe there are spliters and that may work, but if you try to splice you will very likely cause interference.the antena is a common place as it is to pick up electrical noise if you go monkeying with the wire, then the chance of that will escalate. more fittings, more places for interferance. as a result you would hear engine noise thru the radio.
