Well, in some places, such as Nebraska, there isn't cell phone service everywhere. Thus, you get an antenna so you can reach the nearest tower.

Anybody know of a currently availible cell phone model with a retractable antenna, or at least a very large one? I travel in rural areas a lot, and live in an area with poor reception. In-car solutions not a possibility.

I just noticed the base of a factory mounted antenna on my 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. Cell or Onstar?

Since Onstar is a GM option, is the factory mounted antenna something for a car phone from that year model?


Jeep is not a GM product, maybe a phone antenna.
