I went to buy one at radio shack and the salesman told me they don't even bother selling them b/c they don't work and that they are a a gimmick.

Nope. I work for a wireless phone manufacturer. The internal antenna is more of a mental thing.

What does work is the huge inconvenient car antennas that actually connects to your phone's antenna - mainly used by construction workers or other folks in remote areas.

I would suggest getting another phone - since different phones have different receptions. Try the Motorola RAZR - it is the best RF performing phone because the antenna is at the lip on the bottom of the phone away from your head - so you don't cover it with your hand when in use.

i live really far away from town... and i have a virgin mobile phone and i get no signal where i live... will the Internal Antenna Booster Sticker work for my phone??? it says it works with LG too... and my phone does have the LG logo on it... if it doesn't work... what is a good cell phone reception booster that is VERY cheap and will work? my phone is the virgin mobile flare so it does not have an antenna... PLEASE help me! this computer and that phone are the only ways i have to talk to my friends and boyfriend

I'm afraid those really don't work. I bought one of those years ago when they came out and they didn't do anything. However if you still want to try, you can get them off Ebay for about $1.00,

you can however get an atenas that has a magnet that you can stick outside that will plug into most phones.

Either that go with a different service provider that has a better coverage area.

I bought this phone online for my son. Everything seems to be working fine except he is having problems with signal. Many times a day it says "no service" I have called our local provider and they say everything is fine with our service. Is there an internal antenna booster I can buy or do you think there is something wrong with his phone. Can someone please give some advice?

Without knowing who your "Local Provider" is and where you are located, then every answer given will only be a guess.
My guess is that you are located in the US ( you said cell not mobile in your description) and your local provider is ATT or a smaller provider that "rents" the ATT towers for service.
ATT's GSM network is GSM850 and GSM1900
Almost all of the areas are now GSM850 with only a few areas still using GSM1900
Your Sons phone is a European/Asian Tri-band phone (GSM900/1800/1900) It is missing the GSM850 band needed to work properly in most areas with ATT service. Without having that band as part of your phone, your phone will say "No Service" The only time the phone will work is when it picks up a GSM1900 tower
