How do you find the range of a cell phone internal antenna?

The newer cell phones don't work in my area. My old one does because it has a short antenna that comes out of the top. I want to purchas a newer phone. Where do you find out what the range is of the antenna in a cell phone.


It depends on the receivers. Nokia is known to have the best receiver. That doesn't mean to only look for a Nokia phone because several other models have the Nokia receiver in them. You might be interested in a item like the one below

internal cell phone antenna not working?

i put a piece of wire on my external cell phone port and now my phone wont get signal and i cant find how to turn the internal antenna on???!!!! wat do i do?!?!?!?!?1


If you get the external antenna, it will turn it on for you. There is a switch inside much like an earphone jack will cut out the speakers and connect you to the earphone.

has anyone tried those internal cell phone antenna boosters. Do they really work or are they just a gimmick.?

they stick under your cell phone battery. Sounds to easy.


I went to buy one at radio shack and the salesman told me they don't even bother selling them b/c they don't work and that they are a a gimmick.

What is an internal antenna in a cell phone?

I'm getting ready to buy a cell phone and plan from us cellular and I was browsing their phones on their website. Some of the phones say they have an internal antenna and others do not. I don't know what the purpose of them are. Should I get one with an internal antenna or does it matter?


doesn't matter, internal and external antenna had the same strength in signal. it all depends on how strong the signal of your carrier is in your area.

purchased a Samsung T319 hoping reception would be better inside the house then it was with my old Nokia, it isn't. Are there any tricks to getting better reception?
