Hi, I'm looking for an indoor digital tv antenna to pick up HD/digital channels. The problem is all the towers are about 41 miles away. I tried a simple RCA antenna from Walmart but it wasn't strong enough. Any suggestions for an indoor digital antenna that can reach over 40 miles?
See if these links will help. Digital TV isn't like analog where a weak signal gets a little snowy, but you can still watch it. With digital TV, when the signal gets weak, the picture is gone.
Adding an amplifier will not help. Amplifiers will help if the antenna signal is good, but there are losses in the long cables from a roof to the TV.

I just bought a new LCD tv and it has an input for a digital tv antenna. I'm wondering if I should buy one.
you usually need to subscribe to a digital service such as cable, or direct tv.
digital tv is the type of broadcasting the signal. most digital tv's will work without a digital reciever, since it's built in, but general free broadscast stations, nbc, abc, cbs, etc, don't broadcast in digital format, but they do broadcast in hi definition, as well as regular tv. the digital programming available today is is in hd or must come from a paid service.

I just bought a new TV that can receive digital channels...but I'm a little behind. I'm picking up digital channels, but the signals are very weak on some of them (like Fox). I currently have an analog antenna hooked up so I can view local channels that are not digital...but I was wondering if they made an antenna I could buy specifically to boost the digital channel signal I receive? Where can I buy such a mystical object? Best Buy?
You can use a normal analog antenna. The demands are similar for SD and HDTV/digital but depending on your location relative to the station you may need a more sensitive design. The link is to a site with info and reviews which may be of help.

I bought a TV converter box but I need a good digital antenna. I live ten minutes away from the airport. I got AT&T cell and I get good four bar reception. I heard about the smart antenna but unsure about it, after reading walmart costumer reviews.

it's a site that helps you choose an antenna based on your location. Antennas are color coded so when you go to buy one, you'll know which color you need.
I'm looking for an optimal TV antenna for indoor use in downtown Chicago for a digital TV. The TV signals are strong here, but when you're indoors (especially in a large building) there may not be a good line of sight. Is there a specific type of antenna that is good for this specific circumstance?
So far my best luck has been with old fashioned rabbit ears.
Do yourself a favor and get a bowtie antenna from Radio Shack.
The darn thing costs $3.99 and I can guarentee that you will be pleased with the results
