how can you put cable, direct tv, and antenna tv into 3 tv's?

im trying to put antenna (local tv) cable (HD tv) and direct tv into 3 tvs at a resturaunt but i dont know what cables to put in and where. if you have an idea or know how please help i need to fix them before sunday, the tvs are "VIZIO" and are hd formatable thank you for reading.

Get a four way splitter for each source (cable, direct tv channel 3 output of box, and antenna). Connect each source to the input of splitters 1, 2 and 3 as shown:

Antenna to input of splitter 1

Cable to input of splitter 2

DirecTV channel 3 output to input of splitter 3

Run cables from the outputs (3 of 4 available) of each splitter to a three way antenna, cable, satellite (might be marked game) switch located behind each tv. Connect as follows:

Output of each switch to antenna input of each TV.

Output from Antenna splitter (1) to antenna input on three way switch.

Output from Cable splitter (2) to cable input on three way switch.

Output from DirecTV Channel 3 splitter (3) to game input (whatever the third input is named on the switch) on three way switch.

Do this for all three TV sets.

Select the source with the switches and change the TV tuning setting between antenna and cable for this setup when channels above 13 are desired. May require auto tuning the set each time.

If the sets have dual antenna inputs for hdtv antenna and tv cable connect the hdtv antenna directly to that input. Use the switch with the cable tv and the direct tv channel 3 output only (as you will not have to retune the tv for channel 3).

If the TV sets have component inputs or HDMI inputs you may want to get separate DirecTV receivers on their four way splitter (different because it splits the satellite signal from the LNB). And then use the HDTV capable DirecTV receivers. The above setup was for standard DirecTV receiver instead of HDTV.

Direct TV's HD access worth the extra money?

I'am debating on weather to get the HD access from direct tv. I already have the HDTV. I know we need the HD receiver and satillite and antenna also. I'am wondering if it is worth the extra money? With the package we have with direct tv now they told me we would only get 4HD channels and the locals. I'm not sure if that is worth it. We have a package that we have had for years and it's no longer available, one of the lower costing ones. We would like to keep it because the next package up from it now would cost us 72.00 a month with HD access they said it would have 7 HD channel, but we dont want to pay that much. I dont understand why we only would get 4 HD channels with the package we already have, when the HD access for 9.99 on the web site shows 7 or so channels. If there is anyone who has direct tv HD access let me know what you think.

Directv may have 100 to 150 hd channels before the end of this year. Call them - you may get a free upgrade to your system.

Satellite cable (coax) and VHF/UHF TV antenna cable (coax) are both 75 ohms in the United States. The difference is how well the cables work for the frequencies passing through them. You should buy the right cable for the job. And although both may be RG-6 cables they do not usually use the same connectors do to actual differences in the size of the center conductor and the dimensions of the outside of the cable. You might be able to use the old cable to help pull the new cable through an opening but discard any cable that is stretched too much to avoid excessive signal loss. Cables can be joined with connectors called F-barrels which have the female F-connector on both ends (the connector on the cables is a male F-connector). But too many barrels lead to too much signal loss so avoid such connections and run new cable all the way if possible. Use a splitter designed for the VHF/UHF antenna if splitting the antenna connection. Use cable TV approved splitter and their cable (their techs may provide you with this free of charge if they support multiple TVs on their installation fee and monthly rate) for the cable TV. And do not connect the two together use a switch to select between cable and tv antenna (you should find this at electronics stores).

What is wrong with my LG 42LB5DF LCD TV?

I have had LG 42LB5DF 1080p for about 3 months.

We have a problem when we turn the TV on (usually 1st thing in the morning).

We have Vertical lines that are distorting the picture.

I have Direct TV HD+DVR hooked to TV with HDMI.

I have tried all three of the HDMI connections and also other HDMI Cables with same result.

Also in my troubleshooting I have hooked up HD antenna to TV for locals in HD and had same result leading me to believe that it is the TV itself.

We will turn on/off TV several times and the problem will correct itself but I am not to pleased with having to do this.

Any ideas?

  • Toshiba TALEN 57HM167 57-Inch 1080p DLP HDTV – EOL August 2007 ...

I initially bought a 56hm168. Within one year, both the lamp exploded (glass all over) AND the light engine died. Toshiba replaced the TV with a 57hm167. A year and a half later - the light engine dies - and this time it is out of warranty. This is a totally different TV, with different production runs, and both have had light engine failures. Cost to repair (if you do it yourself) is $932 for the part. If you have a tech come out and do it, well over $1000. Even getting Toshiba to fix the orginal TV while it was under warranty was as painful as pulling teeth. It took almsot 4 months for them to get it done. While the image may be nice on these TVs, and the price attractive, the quality...
