Dish Network Antenna

I need to know how to install the antenna. I guess need some coordinates and other type of satellite information.

read the installation manual. You may have to go to their website to get the elevation and bearing settings.

Find a place where you have an unobstructed view. mount it per the directions.

Using a compass, rotate it to the bearing given.
elevate it to the elevation angle given.

hook up the dish to the box, and the box to your TV. Have the TV where you can see it from the antenna.

go into the menu and select the setup option.

start slowly moving the antenna side to side until you get the strongest signal.

slowly move the antenna up and down until you get the strongest signal.

repeat the two above steps until you get the strongest signal. It may take a couple of tries, but it can be done by yourself without any fancy equipment.

I just got dish network and don't want to pay for locals. I also bought an indoor OTA antenna to pick up Hd locals. Besides connecting the coax cable is there anything else I need to configure?
Let me clarify. The dish receiver has an input for ota antenna on the back. I hooked up my ota antenna back there (via coax cable) and nada. I have no locals. HELP!

--- you will just need to select a different input for whatever you ar watching. For instance on my 50 inch I have it on HDMI while watching DirectTV and DTV for ITA networks. Depending on your TV the setting name may be different.

Dish Network wanted to charge me 100 to bring the antenna down from my roof after canceling with them. Any opinions about that?

Does anyone know who I could also call in order to bring that down? Maybe they can charge me at least less than $ 100, an Electrician maybe ? Thank you

IF the DISH is actually mounted to the roof, right on top of your shingles, you will end up with the roof leaking and get well over $100 in damage to your roof...

I suggest leaving it up there, or have DISH do the job PROPERLY, which means they will have to plug the holes and weather proof them.

That's why I chose to have a yard-mounted DISH...

Right now I have SD dish network but I'm thinking about upgrading to HD since I recently got an HD TV, would the dish network people have to install another antenna or change the ones I currently have? Right now I have 2 antennas btw. Will the new HD reciever work with my current antennas?

You will need a multi-LNB dish. But some HD will come through without it. Best idea is to talk to dish network. They will probably arrange something for free if you upgrade to the HD packages.
