Dish TV Antenna

I have moved from my home at around 150 kms.
want to take Dish tv with me.
Will i be able to adjust the dish tv myself or I have to call the engineer.
calling engineer means to shell out around 500 Rupees.

This is a 2-man job. First, the pole that holds the dish needs to be leveled almost perfectly. Then one person adjusts the dish while the other checks signal strength at the tv while communicating with each other.

my dish tv"s antenna has changed directions due to wind.how can i realighen it?

doing yourself will not be the best, but you can do it pretty close

in the main menu of your receiver, select "setup", then "installation", then "point dish". type in your zip code, and this will give you the coordinates to point the dish. the numbers refer to what is called the "polar plate" on the back of the dish. elevation is given in degrees above the horizon, azimuth is give in reference to north/south (180=straight south, 170=10 degrees off straight south, towards the east, etc.), and skew is a rotational degree (90 is straight up and down, and anything else makes it a little cockeyed).

but this will only get you in the general direction. it will probably work, but it will cut out a lot. you need a professional to re-point it to get the best accuracy.

I have a dish TV connection. Recently i shifted my home to new place in chennai. I want to install dish tv antenna. I tried keeping the antenna in some directions but the reception is very bad. How to do it correctly? any sort of help is appreciated.
i contact some people. they are asking huge amount. seems there is no fixed amount for this service. Cant find any links in the site also. any idea how much they cost to install?

This question is of relevance to the mushrooming home TV users with their own dish antennae e.g. that of Tata Sky or DISH TV or DTH TV

Mount it on the ground and you won't have to worry about strikes....more stable alignment too.

You would have to be the ONLY Home within a 30 mile radius in the Flatlands to get struck.
