Electronic TV Antenna

IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE DISH ANTENNA AND THE LNB,S TO GET TV CHANNELS IN THE AIR, I THINK IT SHOULD BE POSSIBLE BUT HOW.... I DON'T KNOW ..MAY BE ANY ELECTRONIC'S ENGINEER OR BROADCAST SPECIALIST KNOW ABOUT IT, IF POSSIBLE HOW..... IN DETAIL PLEASE.

I understand this is happening in 2009, and that TV antennas won't work or something similar, but what is the difference between analog and digital electronic broadcasting?
I know that analog clocks work on motors, and digital clocks are run by electronics, so how can broadcasting TV be analog?
What is the difference?

I think analog translates signals into electronic pulses but they can only carry certain amounts of information which is why you only get a few channels.

Digital on the other hand breaks signals into binary so you can get alot more information without alot of error.

I have a flat screen TV and the black box. Lately, my picture is not a clear as it was, I am missing some of the channels (I don't have cable), and my box is not performing as it should. I replaced the batteries in my remotes. I checked all the connections on the TV and the black box and they are all good. I checked the disc antenna an that connection was good. Do you have any ideas as to what else I can do?
This TV is only a little more than a year old.
this is a legal box that I purchased with the TV it is a Strong SRT 5006

its not the tv. i can tell you that. you have ruled out all connections thats good. to me its seems to be the black box as you called it. if it is illegal then there is no gaurantee how good of quality it is. and since your tv just displays what is sent to it , the box controls the channels and signal quality. to me thats the answer. its the black box. invest in a legal box . you will not have these problems. good luck.

When the TV just barely touches the metal connection of the cable, the whole apartment shuts down, as in every light and electronic device turns off. The TV worked fine at a repair-shop, no shut down. A man came over to check the antenna on the roof and said it was fine.
Tried multiple connections, didn't make a difference. What is up with that TV? Seriously?
Any hint, advice, criticism is welcomed.

Update: I can still use an old Philips TV connected to the cable and there is no short circuit.

well, i think you have a short circuit in your house (some how the cable antenna and your house electric system got connected? ). you may want to call electrician and let him check it out.

The Short answer is yes. These stats always come from tests at the optimal conditions. It would be smart to get an antenna but in my experience these cards are always a waste of your money
