I just purchased an external Gilsson GPS antenna for my Magellan GPS.My GPS does have an original Magellan external antenna on it.Will the new Gilsson antenna work any better than the Magellan one i have now or have i just thrown some money out the window?

Without model numbers of involved equipment, it'll be hard to say.

I've seen reviews of units like the Gillson's MCX series and they show rather slight, but measurable differences from model to model. So unless your original antenna was pretty bad, I wouldn't expect noticable difference.

It's easy to do A/B testing, though. Go to the satellite screen and compare the number and size of bars displayed while changing antennas.

I have a motorola v3 razr and get poor reception in my apartment. I was wondering if anyone has experience with an external antenna they can recommend? Does it work?

There is no port you could plug it into if there was one...However, several wireless providers are working on "In Home Signal Boosters" These will cost between 50 to 100, and look like a small box you just plug into the wall. Keep a look out on your wireless providers site...I know tmobile and cingular about to release them...Sprint and Verizon are sure to follow...

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000, it has an internal wireless 1450 mini-pc card. I would either like to be able to get to the card to attach an antenna or I would like to find an external antenna that will work via USB.

I want to get an antenna to extend my wireless reception. There are wireless networks in the area that my laptop recognizes, but the signal is not strong enough. In researching antennas, I noticed that they say you need an external antenna jack. My computer is a Dell Inspiron 5150 laptop. I bought it in 2004 approximately. Does anyone know if this would have an external antenna jack or what that would look like? Thanks!
