How to build fm broadcast antenna?

How can i easily build a fm broadcast antenna to hook up to my fm transmitter the antenna hookup is a BNC input. I have a 25ft BNC cable.

Contact the ARRL (American Radio Relay League), a group of hams that should be online by now. They used to publish comprehensive handbooks on building your own stuff. Or the editor of a zine called Radio Electronics for a quick fix.

How to build fm broadcast antenna for 90.7 fm?

I need simple design like basically a straight antenna and i want to spend about $30 USD no more.

That is in the range of standard FM broadcast range. Are you making a micro transmitter? Remember to not go above 5 watts of power or the FCC may have a problem with that.

A 32" No. 10 copper wire should be plenty for a transmitter antenna. You will have to connect it directly to the transmitter or use a grounded coaxial cable to get to it. You should be able to just solder the insulated conductor to the antenna.

Ham/CB/FM radio broadcast antenna question?

Could you cut or lenghten a 2 meter ham (144 to 148 Mhz) broadcast antenna to make it broadcast FM (88 to 108 Mhz)?
If so is there an equation for this?

A quarter wave ham antenna at 146 MHz is about 1/2 of a meter. A quarter wave FM antenna at 98 MHz is about 3/4 of a meter. The 2 meter ham band is only 2 MHz wide and one antenna will cover that. The FM band is 20 MHz wide, so you need to know what frequency you want and adjust the length accordingly.

There is another problem, however. FM antennas (as well as television antennas) are 75 ohm impedance and ham antennas are 50 ohm impedance. You can't just use one for the other and have the best performance.

can i use a fm antenna to broadcasting on a am transmitter?

hi i have a fm antenna and a am transmitter cause i cant find any am antennas out there if you no of any sites that do cheap am broadcasting antennas let me no thanks

but anyway can i use the fm antenna on the am transmitter and will it do anything to the output?

You will need to have an antenna that can "match" the output of the AM transmitter.

If you don't have the technical knowledge, be advised that your transmitter can go up in flames..literally, if you don't know what you're doing.

If you're going to do "Part 15," you can legally only get 200 to 300 feet out with FM. On AM, you can legally get out a mile or two.
