The plasma tv has a built in hd tuner. Can I receive hd reception with only an indoor antenna?
No. You need to at least have a coaxial cable connection. If you have that then you should be able to get HD signals for free. For example channel 7-1 on my tv is the HD version of channel 7.
My house is about 20 km from TV transmitter location. It#39;s an indoor antenna. But the reception is DAMN GOOD !!! I#39;ve made it from ...
The 2 tv's are on different floors from each other. Is there a way to split the signal
The other answer is right, you don't need a special HD antenna. Actually, you mean digital antenna. You just need a UHF TV antenna.
You can get a splitter for your antenna to provide a signal to both of your TV's. They can be purchased at Radio Shack, Wal Mart, even most hardware stores. But this does weaken the signal each TV will receive. If you don't get all the signals after you split the signal as you do now you'll have to put up a second antenna or get an amplified splitter.
I am thinking about buying a Zenith indoor HD antenna and I am not sure how the cable line will connect to my Sharp Aquos LC 26D40U HDTV. My current basic cable connection provides a blurred picture and I do not want to pay the monthly subscriber fee for the Hi Def.
Your Sharp has two coaxal inputs, so you basically put the HD antenna on one and the cable on the other, then with the remote just switch your video inputs.

Yes and NO !!
No, you can't use a "regular" indoor antenna for HDTV reception -but YES- you can purchase an antenna specifically made for receiving Network HDTV programs.
Terk makes a good HDTV antenna that will do the job IF:
You're within a reasonable distance of your broadcast tower.
If you live a "little" too far away to receive a strong signal, mounting the same indoor/oudoor antenna outside will help.
Even if you don't make your purchase their, here's a link that is excellent for making an informed purchasing decsion + if you do buy here....and it doesn't work to your satisfaction, you get your $$ back within 30 days - no questions asked.

Im getting a toshiba 1080 lcd tv and i only have basic rogers cable. How do i get hd tv, i dont want to pay for hd box. If i use hd antenna how many hd channles can i get? What would happen if i cancel basic cable, and just use hd antenna, will i only be able to pick up hd channels. thanks
A lot depend on where you live and what type of antenna you are willing to buy. Indoor antennas are not really that good unless you live in a metro area.
