Mobile Phone Antenna Booster

I have a t mobile g1 and I have no huge problem with signal... There are just one or two places I don't get a 3g signal. I've seen on eBay little chips that stick on under the battery that claim to boost signal... For £1 it seems worth a go but wondered if anyone has one and if they do the trick? Thanks in advance!

if it makes you believe that it works better.. .then I have a piece if paper I can sell you for a pound as well..

But the answer is NO.

Hold the phone by you finger tips,
so you hand does not mask the aerial in the back of the case,
and it will work better..

Put your hand all over it, and that blocks much of the signal...
The bit of paper in the phone makes no difference whatsoever..
but as you can't prove them wrong/you may believe it... and they have your money !

Similar story goes for all the mobile radiation shields...
they actually make things worse !
..no radiation.. no signal...no working phone.
So anything that stops the signal (rather like a hand) makes the phone work harder.. and the battery flatten faster ;)

i live really far away from town... and i have a virgin mobile phone and i get no signal where i live... will the Internal Antenna Booster Sticker work for my phone??? it says it works with LG too... and my phone does have the LG logo on it... if it doesn't work... what is a good cell phone reception booster that is VERY cheap and will work? my phone is the virgin mobile flare so it does not have an antenna... PLEASE help me! this computer and that phone are the only ways i have to talk to my friends and boyfriend

I'm afraid those really don't work. I bought one of those years ago when they came out and they didn't do anything. However if you still want to try, you can get them off Ebay for about $1.00,

you can however get an atenas that has a magnet that you can stick outside that will plug into most phones.

Either that go with a different service provider that has a better coverage area.

I live in a mobile home and have to go outside to make calls.....I have cingular/nokia. Anybody know the best phone and will some type of antenna/power booster help?

If you have a metal roof mobile home and the home is in a slightly weaker reception area, you may find that none of the service providers can give you good reception inside your home.

But if you can get reception outside of the mobile home, you may want to look into an external antena. They can cost $30 to $100. Be sure you purchase one that will work with your phone. Some phones will require a special adapter cable. Depending on how strong your signal is, a desktop unit may be enough and they are very cheap.

If you want to get serious about getting a strong signal, you could get a cellular amplifier. There are car models and home models. The less expensive ones will be hardwired to your phone. They will cost $200-$300. Wireless ones will cost $400 to $1000 depending on how serious you are.

The reason why I ask this is that because as we know that over-exposure/over-usage of mobile phone can be harmful to health, so that i am afraid that the same applies to television-receiver antenna (with booster or not) as both are using antenna.

It would be great if you could also explain the reason behind (e.g. explaining the type-of-wave difference between television wave and mobile phone wave, etc) & give me reference (web link of scientific facts/related institution that can be trusted)

The key difference is that a boosted TV antenna only receives signals, amplifies them and sends them through the screened (co-ax) cable. It does not emit signals itself.
