Motorola Antenna

I have a motorola v3 razr and get poor reception in my apartment. I was wondering if anyone has experience with an external antenna they can recommend? Does it work?

There is no port you could plug it into if there was one...However, several wireless providers are working on "In Home Signal Boosters" These will cost between 50 to 100, and look like a small box you just plug into the wall. Keep a look out on your wireless providers site...I know tmobile and cingular about to release them...Sprint and Verizon are sure to follow...

It still works but not in all locations.

Cingular(AT&T) is dropping analog cell phones and analog technology, and forcing it's customers to buy newer cell phones. My problem is that I cannot find any newer phones that have an external phone jack, except Motorola Razrs which I am told are junk. I use my cell phone for hunting and need an external antenna for good transmission and reception in rural areas.
For unknown reasons cell phone manufacturers have stopped making phones that can utilize an external antenna. Seems they are deserting us rural folk.

analog is so unsafe its ridiculous. GSM is the most secure network in the world. There are a lot of rural carriers that use this service as well. sorry, you aren't going to find what you are looking for.

I bought an aftermarket flashing antenna and part of the metal got stuck inside and is now flush with the top. I tried taking apart the faceplate to see if I could get to it that way but couldn't. Any suggestions on how to get this out so I can put the OEM antenna back in??

buy new phone.

I recently saw some flashing stub antennas at the mall and i noticed that my Moto V176 has a removable antenna.

Would my signal strength degrade if i were to get one of these antenna "upgrades"

My cell is w/ tracfone.
And, are they worth it at $14.99 USD + Tax?

i don't think so. I used to have a V180 which is basiclly the same phone...it just has a external display. and i was able to take off the antenna and it didn't hurt my signal strength at all. so if you want a flashing antenna go ahead and get one.
