How can i sheare network with other computer?
TrueTime NTS-200 GPS Network Time Server

I have on computer connected direct from Radio and Antenna. Now i connect hub with this computer through the another LAN Card on the Computer. But i want to sheare the network to another computers through the hub so that the computer that already been connected will serve as server.

you don't need a router,
since both computers connect to the Internet through same gateway or hub
Follow these steps in order to Network all of them.
on your laptop and desktop, or any other computer,
-Right Click on My Computer,
-Select Propreties
-Select computer Name
-Name your Laptop "My Laptop", name your Desktop "Desktop" and any other name for different computers.
-Click on change
-In the Workgroup space, give all your computers same WorkGroup Name(it is case sensitive). MSHOME is the default, change it to something different, but your computers must be in the same workgroup.
-Click OK
- a message "welcome to ******* workgroup" is shown.
-please restart your computers at this point.
-when your computers are on,
-double click on My Network Places
-on the left bar, click on "view work group computers" do this on both computers.
-you will see the names of your laptop in the desktop and vice versa.
you can now share documents, files, and drives.

Wireless network in home, need privacy, explain a proxy to me?

Ok so I have a wireless network at home and the main unit that sends out the internet is on another computer. My computer has an antennae and receives the signal and logs on. I've found out a bit about proxy servers, but what are they exactly? How do they work? How are they going to keep my web browsing history on my computer only? Any help is appreciated for this befuddled person.

How can an Iraqi IT with good qualifications get a job in the Green Zone?

Very good English language... Two years in Vsat (SCPC/SCPC , DVB/RCS ) & networking .. four months DB with MS Access .. Know how to manage ISA Server 2004 ... One year working with wireless LANs , aplifiers ,access points and various types of antennas... and taking the CCNA Exam next month .

You are on the right track. I note that you have posted your qualifications in your question. To answer your question more fully: please make a resume.

A resume is a statement of your qualifications. A document that tells about what you know and what you have done. You are a highly skilled IT professional? Good. Talk about that in your resume and send it to companies that your would like to work for.

Wireless Network Advice around 900feet ( with picture ) ?

Hi, I need help with an outdoor wireless setup, basically I have the main internet connection ( and file server and other stuff ) at one point, and I would like to make the connection to the other point, the problem as you can see on the picture is LOS, there are many things in between one site and the other, the 2 sites are separated by around 900 feet, and I guess I can place antennas on both ends, but I really don't want to place a 30-60 feet antenna just for this, I believe that there has to be a way to make this connection that does not cost an arm and a leg.

here is the picture http://www.internettico.com/wirelesssetu p.jpg

can someone point me in the right direction ! thank you !
just so you guys know, I do not have a LOS, no I need something that I think they call it a nLOS setup, actually I do know that if I place antennas up high I can make the connection, but I want to see what else is there, before I put a pole up.

and well all the red things on the pic are houseroofs

Youre askin for quite a bit here. I'm not sure by lookin at the pic how many obstructions are in the path but 2 options I can see. The first would be a repeater between both spots. The next would be small parobolic wifi antennas on each end.
Bostonia, you may be a network engineer but you dont know jack about antennae! I've built every conceivable wifi antenna there is and a small dish will outperform a yagi or quagi for his needs. I spent 4 years at Devry in the communications field 35 years ago. He can also build his own parabola for as little as 20 bucks! Keep in mind he probably doesnt have clear line of site and a dish will provide better gain under his circumstances. Furthermore a cantenna is a piece of garbage.

Signal Strength=Low, Internet keeps disconnecting (Server not found) What can I do about this?

I don't have an antennae or anything to pick up signal, but it's always gotten rather good signal from my desktop computer, which is not very far away from where i sit with my laptop. For the past two days the internet keeps disconnecting ever so often (sometimes for short times, sometimes for a long time) and the signal strength says low. (speed=48.0) What can I do or what's going on? Also, every time I shut my lap top or turn it off it disconnects from my network (I have to restart wireless configuration and re-check the network connection box under network settings each time) What can I do about this?

Sounds like your laptop is using a battery saving feature. Check your power management setings and raise them a bit. That should help with the low power signal strength.

About the connection being droped when your computer goes to sleep. This is normal. It should reconnect after a few minutes, but I always find it easier and faster to just reconnect manually. When you put the laptop in sleep mode it releases the internet connection for security/battery saving purposes. It has to reconnect when you wake it up.

  • Use a Ntp Server to Keep Precise Network Time

Systems have internal real-time clocks that are notoriously poor at keeping accurate time. Hence, the time on all computers and network devices can drift away from one another at different rates. This can be a real headache when trying to synchronise time-critical processes. However, it is quite simple to synchronise every device on your network to an accurate time reference – a NTP time server. NTP, or Network Time Protocol, is used by the Internet to distribute accurate time information to network time clients. NTP has been an important part of the Internet for over 25 years. The protocol was developed because of the need to provide synchronisation of critical processes. Most operating systems in use today, including Windows XP, 2003 and LINUX have the built-in ability to synchronise time with a NTP Server. Additionally, there are any number of Internet based NTP Time Servers with public access that can be used to synchronise your network infrastructure. Microsoft Windows XP/2000/2003 has pre-configured SNTP, Simple Network Time Protocol, client software that can synchronise time with a time server. This is achieved by simply entering the domain name of an Internet NTP Server in the time properties tab or registry entry. The Windows machine will then contact the NTP Server and synchronise the system time to the specified reference at periodic intervals. To summarise, NTP time servers are dedicated network time servers that obtain time from an accurate external reference, such as radio or GPS, and provide an accurate timing reference. Time servers are often rack-mountable devices with external antenna’s and an Ethernet connection. The devices obtain time from a radio or GPS timing reference and maintain an accurate internal time. This time is then distributed to time clients over an IP network. Dedicated NTP servers often minimize the set-up and configuration effort required to get a NTP time server installation up and running.
