Im a ham radio radio operator and looking for a tower i may have found one but i want to make sure i have the right wind load the magazine says 4 Square ft wind load could some one clarify the meaning of that by telling me how much wind this can withstand thanks

If I understand the question correctly, the short answer is it can withstand an antenna with a four square feet wind load. You have a tower in mind that says it is rated for say 4 square feet of wind load and it should also say at 75 or 100MPH etc. either way, the antenna you will be installing will also have a wind load rating in Square feet. So first look at the antenna you want to install, look at the specs. I should say it has 2 square feet or 8 square feet etc. Then be sure to choose a tower with more than that. Rotors also are rated this way, so if you will install an antenna that requires a rotor, be sure the rotor you choose has a square foot wind load that is greater than that of the antenna. The question always starts with the antenna, hen everything else will need to have a higher wind load rating.

I was watching hazard pay and they showed a picture of the bottom of a radio antenna, it wasnt attached, it was 1400 Ft. tall. If you can give me a website or that episode on video on the internet i would be VERY happy. If you give me the best website withh good pix i will mark your answer as the best
thanks in advance
Here's a news article about the episode. The radio station's email and phone number are at the bottom, you could ask if you don't believe that it is attached to the ground. Good luck!

The tower will be supported by three cables, each attached to the top of the tower and to points on the roof of the building that are 16 feet from the base of the tower. Find the total length of the three cables.
60 feet, if I understand your explanation correctly. The way I figured it was that the tower is 12ft tall and the cables were attached to the roof (that the antenna is sitting on), 16ft away from the base of the tower. Assuming the antenna is exactly vertical and the roof exactly horizontal, thereby forming a right angle, use Pythagorean's theorum to solve 12^2 + 16^2 = c^2 where c is the length of the cable
144 + 256 = c^2
400 = c^2
c=20 times 3 cables = 60 feet

I work for a Telecommunications company in Honduras and we have been recently installing a GSM network. We have this great radio tower with AM radio antennas and were wondering if adding GSM antennas would cause interference between the two emissions. Please let us know and tell us why or why not.
Greetings from Honduras
AM frequency's run from 535 to 1705kHz, where as GSM is either 850/900/1800/1900 MHz. kHz vs MHz, both are different therefore would not cause any interference.

They tell you a lot of useful information about the loction of masts near your area, what type they are, how strong a signal is produced and what that means. It is good, and you might discover that the lamp post at the end of the street is actually a mast....I initially though the one at the end of my raod was an incomplete street lamp, it looks like one, and doesn't stand out.......its only till someone points it out do you notice......

FBI Addresses Toppling Of Local Radio Tower
The FBI says the toppling of a radio tower in Whitehall Township, Lehigh County probably isn't connected to similar incidents on the West Coast. The WAEB tower near MacArthur Road was brought down nearly a week ago. An eco-terror group has claimed responsibility for knocking down two radio towers in Washington around the same time. The FBI says it doesn't believe the same group was at work in Whitehall Township. But agents say they'll continue to work with Whitehall Township Police in their investigation.
