I need to move my TV antenna Rotor Control Box across the room, but I dont have enough cord, what can I do?

Can I just add more of the same wire using small wire nuts and then move the rotor control box where I want it.

The cord I am talking about is the cord that runs from the Rotor Control Box to the antenna. Not he plug in power cord.

Yes
You've got the right idea, just extend the wires and insulate with wire nuts or electrical tape.
If it ever fails, you may want to look into new control box with Infrared remote.

On a TV antenna Installation job, is it OK to ask the installer if I can supply the Antenna, Rotor and Amp?

Obvioulsy they want to make a profit. I can get all the major components much cheaper. I just need them to install. Funny thing this guy did not even want to ground the antenna against lightning strikes.

You not only may need a different installer, but you might want to reconsider the amplifier. It's not something you want unless you know that there is a compelling need, and if you're buying a new and better antenna and giving it the best possible outdoor installation, chances are good that you don't need it. If a dealer is trying to sell you one, it may be primarily because he wants to sell you one.

Go to the link below and examine the TV coverage and recommended antennas for your area. I'm betting that you'll find an amplifier is very low on your list of needs.

Where in NSW Australia can I purchase a TV antenna rotor?

That's a toughie.... I just checked Dick Smith's website and they don't seem to have an antenna rotor (not that they couldn't special order one). Of course, I have no idea if there's a Dick Smith Electronics near you.... I'm in California. Looks like you're going to have to order online.

My husband wanted me to surf the net to find a tv antenna with a rotor that will pick up at a 100 mile range..

Could you help me cut some corners? Any special model you would recommend. Special wording I could use to find exactly what I need within the first hours of looking. My husband is like my mother, in that they think you type in what you want and it takes you directly there. Any help is really, really appreciated. Thank You

Go to antennaweb.org

They don't recommend specific models, but at least they recommend the antenna gain you need to access the closest stations to your home.
