Satellite Radio Antenna

I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with SIRIUS Satellite Radio factory installed. I have a Sirius subscription and I get good reception, but I was just curious as to where the antenna is mounted.

Under the top of the center of the dash on 2007 and up and is not visible,the 2006 is mounted on the roll bar just above the speaker pod.

Does this mean that it cant find the satellite antenna or the radio antenna?

All the wires are connected as they should be.

Called Sirius and they tried to help.(I was unimpressed)

Call Sirius. Your fees include technical support. I would call Sirius and ask them what is your problem. They should be able to trouble shoot and help resolve your problem.

Edited to add: call back and speak with someone else. They know their product. Whether you were impressed or not, they should be able to identify and help you fix your problem.

I have the antenna, just no radio, and no thought to buy one. are there some interesting uses for this device? like could i use it as a more powerful ham radio antenna?
or somehow plug it into my computer for something?
it has a weird special plug on the end of the cord, but i could cut that plug off if need be, and expose the wire. i dont know much about these things

well that antenna is tuned for 2200 mhz.

there are no hams that actually operate anywhere near that freq

and it is made for reception only!!!!
I bet if you try to put any power into it it will blow up or start to melt.

your best but would be to find someone who needs a satellite radio antenna. go to craigslist

I know nothing about cars but refuse to believe it's all that difficult since they provide basic instructions with the system. Is there any specific issues I should watch out for before giving it a go? Any tips??
