Hi - I'm trying to get OTA HD using a Terk HDTVa indoor antenna. I have it plugged into my DirecTV HD receiver which is connected to my Sony Bravia. I cannot even tell if the antenna is powered on (nothing lights up when I plug it in). I realize that I made not get reception where I live, but I would think I would see something, even static, when I access a local HD channel. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks

which model? my terk doesn't have any lights!
is this it?

try tuning directly to the channels using the dash key on the directv remote as in 2-1 or 44-1 or 36-2 (some of my locals)

but regardless, HD channels don't have static.. they are all , nothing or blocky (macro blocking). Try to tune in an analog channel, you should get some static or a picture on them when connected directly to the tv.

Routers that work with Terk Wf-R Wifi Dual Band High-Gain Replacement Antenna?
black friday Terk HDTVa Indoor Amplified High-Definition Antenna for Off-Air HDTV Reception

I bought a pair of Terk antennas but I found it doesn't fit your standard pci express card antenna port. its bigger I think its have WF-R connecter when regular router and pci express card is for SMA connector or something like that. So I'm wondering if you guys know a router that use this antenna or a good replacement high gain antenna that fit a regular internet card on a desktop. It'll be great if you can provide a link for the products.

Well there should have been adapters with them for SMA or TNC but why not just order the correct adapter? They can be used with any connection, you just add the adapter for them
Here is a very complete list of adapters.

There are other locations to get these, I just happen to know that one. I think you can probably get the from Terk

The problem is, there is no "standard" connection for "regular" internet card, they are all different by manufacturers. Even the same mfg. may use different connections on different cards!

I have a Terk TV44 Antenna, and it is Blocking my DISH Channels!?
New Terk 55 HD Antenna

I have a Terk TV42 Antenna I've had for about 6 years. I have had Problems recieving my DISH Network Channels since 2005.

I have Diconnected the Terk TV42 Antenna at one piont to see what Happens, and my DISH Channels came in Perfect!!

I put the TV42 Antenna back on, and my DISH came in good for about a Week, and after that, I lost half of my Channels.

I was Wondering: if I Disconnected my DISH, would my TV42 still Recieve my Local Broadcast Channels, even though I would have it Disconnected from my DISH ?!?

And what other Options do I have, if I still want my Local Stations though an Antenna?!?
Sorry, I ment TV42....
I don't have the TV44 Installed.......
Its a TV42 on my DISH!! :)

DirecTV works fine with both an antenna and the dish hooked up at the same time. DTV receivers actually have a plug for your antenna. I can't imagine why DishNet would be any different.

Call Dish and ask them to fix the problem.

In addition to what the others have said, this antenna is not multi directional so it has to be pointed at the broadcast towers for the station(s) you want to receive. If they are all withing a few degrees of each other, you will be ok. However, if they are in different directions and the people watching those 3 TVs want to view stations which are in different directions at the same time, you will have a problem.

i have an samsung hdtv, would a terk hd antenna be pointless?
OUCH

would it help at all?

It depends on what you want to do.

An antenna is a requirement if you wish to watch Free Over The Air TV. Depending on your area, your local stations may have sub channels that are not available on cable or satellite. Visit http://www.TitanTV.com for local listings.

Since you are asking this question, I assume you have cable or satellite. You could connect your cable box or satellite receiver to one of the A/V or HDMI inputs of your TV and leave the antenna on the antenna input. Then you could switch between antenna and cable/satellite just by changing inputs. This is a good backup for when cable goes out.

There is no such thing as a HD antenna, that's just marketing hype. Any TV antenna will work equally well for analog or digital. The antenna you need depends on how strong the signals are in your area. Visit http://www.antennaweb.org for assistance on choosing the proper antenna for your situation. If the signals are strong enough, you can use an indoor antenna, if not you will have to use an outdoor antenna.
