In addition to what the others have said, this antenna is not multi directional so it has to be pointed at the broadcast towers for the station(s) you want to receive. If they are all withing a few degrees of each other, you will be ok. However, if they are in different directions and the people watching those 3 TVs want to view stations which are in different directions at the same time, you will have a problem.

would it help at all?
It depends on what you want to do.
An antenna is a requirement if you wish to watch Free Over The Air TV. Depending on your area, your local stations may have sub channels that are not available on cable or satellite. Visit http://www.TitanTV.com for local listings.
Since you are asking this question, I assume you have cable or satellite. You could connect your cable box or satellite receiver to one of the A/V or HDMI inputs of your TV and leave the antenna on the antenna input. Then you could switch between antenna and cable/satellite just by changing inputs. This is a good backup for when cable goes out.
There is no such thing as a HD antenna, that's just marketing hype. Any TV antenna will work equally well for analog or digital. The antenna you need depends on how strong the signals are in your area. Visit http://www.antennaweb.org for assistance on choosing the proper antenna for your situation. If the signals are strong enough, you can use an indoor antenna, if not you will have to use an outdoor antenna.

I have the maxent MX-50X5 50" plasma monitor. Which I think means it's HD ready. I cannot watch any cable (which I knew going in buying this) but i'm confused on what I need to buy in order to make it work.
Do I need a HDTV digital tuner, such as : http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-DTBH260F-H DTV-Terrestrial-Receiver/dp/B000JV6TQY/r ef=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics &qid=1213081576&sr=8-1
and do I need a HD antenna for it to work as well?

Please let me know. Thanks!
I plugged in the tuner, put the cable in and nothing. I can't put both the cable and antenna in at the same time because they both need to go into the same input. The picture isn't that great... Help!
Daniel is correct except for one point:
"All digital tuners receive HD signals, so just get one of those and you'd be set."
All digital tuners will receive HD signals, but any tuner bought with the govt coupon will not ouput an HD picture. The Samsung tuner you showed will give you true HDTV. However, you might see if you can find a used one on e-bay for much less money, since many people (including me) have bought newer TVs with built-in tuners and no longer need their HDTV receivers.

I had the Philips MANT510 indoor antenna with a 50db amplification that picked up stations about 30 miles away.
I have a Samsung HDTV (model is HLS5687WX/XAA) and am totally amped up for tonights NBA finals. Unfortunately, all I have is an HDTV antenna (it's a Terk HDTV-a model) and I'm having a TON of trouble getting channels programmed. Some HDTV channels are coming in just fine (when I move it), but ABC isn't coming in. The standard channel shows up (blurry as hell), but when I enter in the HD channel (40-1), the TV won't switch to that station.
The bummer is that it used to have all the local channels programmed in, but I was fooling around with the TV settings and had it auto-program, and it lost all of the stations that were in there. Now I can't manually add anything - the TV won't switch to HD channels even if it doesn't get a reception, but it does this with analog channels. HELP. PLEASE.
It sounds like the antenna is not receiving well enough. Make sure the power supply to the antenna is hooked up. Digital local channels need to have a very good signal to work regularily. I can use a piece of solder in some customers homes and it works fine and then go 10 blocks away and have no luch at all.
