Ok I need to know how to make a Wifi antenna out of a can or something simple. Please help.Oh ya its for a laptop. I dont have an internet card
Check out this link, it will show you how to build one. http://www.turnpoint.net/wireless/canten nahowto.html
Turn a standard WiFi antenna into a super range extender antenna just like the ones sold in stores for $30 or more. Your cost? About 5 CENTS!
I want to extend the range of my wifi router. I plan to relocate one of the antenna of my wifi router Linksys WRG54G by attaching a cable to the antenna and connecting it to the router. Can I just use a coaxial cable that is used for cable tv? What are the implications, if any?
That's the wrong cable. You most likely need one with a connector called "reverse-polarity TNC" to mate with your Linksys. They're not too hard to find. But beware of trying to use a long cable - at the frequencies involved, losses in the cable are quite high. You may be better off replacing the antenna with a higher gain one such as this:

My scenario is this, I want to use a wifi pci antenna card on my pc with wired internet connection as an access point. I have gotten a signal to be transmitted from it using drivers meant for another products, but i can't connect to it, that is it gives me an IP error.
Buying a router is not an option.
Internet connection sharing on?
Put your drivers back the way they were, and set up an "ad hoc" network using a STATIC IP, then tell the other machines to use the IP as the default gateway.

It's easier to move closer
I just bought a wifi antenna. Where do I attach it on my Gateway Windows Vista Computer? For my wii! So I can play my Mario Kart Wii with people from around the world.
That made my head hurt.
First things first:
What exactly are you trying to do?
If I understood correctly, your ultimate goal is to be able to connect to a wireless network with your Wii, yes?
If that's the case, then I fail to see where your computer comes into the picture.
Moreover, you don't connect an antenna to your computer. Whatever you bought, I don' think it's an 802.11 card.
If you want to buy a wireless card, look for a PCI Express card. You attach this to a spare PCIe slot in your motherboard. It's not really an antenna though...
To be able to use your PCIe wireless card, however, you will need a wireless network to connect to. Perhaps you already have one. I can't really tell. If you don't have a wireless network, however, but you do have an Internet connection, then you can create a wireless network by purchasing a wireless router.
Finally to your Wii. I do not own a Wii, so I cannot say for certain, but I have been told by others that the Wii has a wireless card installed in it out of the box. This means that you can connect to your wireless network with your Wii once you've purchased and set up a wireless router. This will allow you to play your games online with people around the world.
Just to reiterate though, your computer and your Wii are two separate devices. You don't need to have a wireless card in your PC for your Wii to be able to get online.
