Xm Antenna

I purchased an Xpress XM device, and the instructions are asking for me to hook the XM antenna to the vehicle's FM antenna. I walked around my vehicle and cannot locate the antenna. I looked in the rear and the antenna is not visible. If there is a method to install this device utilizing the AUX, that would be much easier for me, perhaps. I have a Honda Civic DX.

Your antenna is built into the glass of the vehicle. The connection to the FM antenna is in the back of the in-dash radio.

You shouldn't need to worry about the antenna. I believe the Xpress XM device transmits to your radio over a frequency that you select. For instance, you might select 88.1 on your XM device and also on your radio. The device would be heard over your radio by transmitting on that frequency.

Installing an XM or SIRIUS satellite radio antenna in a sedan.

I have a new SkyFi3 that came with SureConnect, which clips around the vehicle's outside FM antenna and sends the FM signal along this wired route to the car's FM antenna. XM states that this is not compatible with outside roof antennas but is compatible with glass antennas. I have heard conflicting info about what kind of antenna my 03 Corolla has- glass or roof (it looks like roof, but who knows). Does anyone know what kind of antenna this car has and if I will be able to use SureConnect with it? I have searched online, including in XM fan forums, and can't find a definitive answer. Thank you!

The xm sure connect can work on both roof mounted or glass mounted, but will not clip on the short stubby antenna. Instead they need to be hardwired to the antenna. The purpose of the sure connect is to eliminate interferance while you are using your xm radio with fm modulator. If u have a glass antenna you will see wire implanted in your windsheild below the rearview mirror. An exterior antenna is mounted either in front or back of your vehicle on the fender or quarter panel. And if you have a power antenna then you need to start the car. look around the body of your car. and you should see the antenna pop up.

I have an XM radio in my truck. It uses an exterior antenna held in place by a magnet. Will an automatic car wash rip it off my truck, or can it handle the wash?

It Shouldn't do anything to the antenna. I've been through many car washes with my antenna and nothing has happened. Also, There are millions of cars out there with that antenna on the car already and they are still there!
