Xm Satellite Radio Antenna

I purchased an Xpress XM device, and the instructions are asking for me to hook the XM antenna to the vehicle's FM antenna. I walked around my vehicle and cannot locate the antenna. I looked in the rear and the antenna is not visible. If there is a method to install this device utilizing the AUX, that would be much easier for me, perhaps. I have a Honda Civic DX.

Your antenna is built into the glass of the vehicle. The connection to the FM antenna is in the back of the in-dash radio.

You shouldn't need to worry about the antenna. I believe the Xpress XM device transmits to your radio over a frequency that you select. For instance, you might select 88.1 on your XM device and also on your radio. The device would be heard over your radio by transmitting on that frequency.

I just got this for my birthday, and at first I had no static, now I get some static. Its the new delphi, connected on the roof of my cts with an FM station transmision. Should I move the antenna? Should I change the radio station? What can I do? Thanks

OK people first change the "station" of frequency of the xm I'm assuming you are using an FM mod. put it on a local station but one you don't listen to pre set it to number 6 for an easier way to listen and if that doesn't work it might be a bad antennae.

I have a 2006 Kia Sedona and all my manual states is that the antenna is an in glass antenna either in the rear window or the third windows, but I am not sure which one. Has anyone else hooked up a satellite radio through their in glass antenna?

Guys, an XM "sure-connect" is a device that makes the FM-modulator in the satellite radio unit work better by running a wire to the FM antenna location. It has little stickers or suction cups to attach it to the glass.

You should be able to see the antenna element in the window; it looks like a little wire embedded or etched on the glass. It's probably in one of the side windows back in the rear cargo area.

I've never been a big fan of the Sure-connect; IMO you're better off buying an FM-direct adapter for XM, but it would be a much more difficult job to install.

I bought my 2006 Monte Carlo used. It never occured to me that GM made all their vehicles XM capable.

In order to activate my XM, do I have to get an antenna put on my car or was that taken care of in the factory.

I can't tell if I have it or not.
Thanks Pancakes I will only get it if they file for bankruptcy protection.

XM capable or XM ready means you need to purchase the reciever and antenna and install it.
You may want to wait until April or May to see if they file bankruptcy first.
