For a warehouse no more than 260,000 square feet, what would be the best 2-way radio to use?

I have a forklift crew of 8. Each vehicle is fitted with an RF Scanner. Plus there's about 8 more support personnel working in different areas of the facility and everybody needs to be in constant communication with each other.

I'm looking for testimonials from anyone who has experience working in a distribution center, warehouse, etc. that have used 2-way radios as a team-based communication device. My budget is $150 per unit.
I'm looking for a specific model.

What is the best, 2-way radio (walkie talkie type) name brands/miles?

I bought a Cobra brand, 17 mile range. But it only works under 2 miles? Maybe I'm not finding a good channel that goes far? I don't know. I need an exellent, at least 8 mile, good brand or something, I will buy another set. Any good suggestions. Please help:(


Motorolla SRX700 - Range advertised 12 miles. Useable range 2-3 miles at best under optimal conditions. Then you also have others like Midland GTX-550VP4 Range advertised 14 miles, useable range again about 3 miles or so.

Which 2 way radio is best on a cruise?

We are going on a cruise in April (Carnival out of Galveston) and I am looking at buying radios so I can keep in contact with my boys. Has anyone rented them on the boat? If so what was the price for the rental?


The FRS, or better is the GMRS/FRS radios. These are slod almost everywhere. The GMRS/FMS have 22 channels and also have a high power option. They also have codes you can use so you aren't bothered by all the calls, remember a lot of people will be using them. You want to get ones with a greater range. It might say two miles on the package, but that is in an open level field with nothing in the way. Cruise ships are made of metal and will block a big part of the signal so get the greatest distance you can afford, and even then there will be some locations it won't work. They are also good for when you are on land shopping.pp

what type of 2-way handheld radio do u recommend that would have the best distance without using a repeater?


i been looking at icom and motorola.....would a 5 watt
be the best type of handheld?
