I'm looking into buying a CB radio with an external speaker. I would like to know where I would find the best deal, and what brands make the best.


Okay, I looked for a cheap CB also and heres what you need.

You need to find a CB shop who will peak and tweak. You need a cobra 19 ($34 at walmart) a little Wil antenna ($40).

Get the CB shop to peak a tweak and check SWR. Takes about 30 min. and $40ish.

Without the peak and tweak you get 2 miles. With the tweak you get 12 miles on a average day. This is the cheapest way for the best results!!

what is the best CB radio on the market?

I need a handheld CB Radio with the furthest possible range, what is the best one? ?

Can someone recommend the best CB Radios that will go the furthest range? I need 2 that will go at least 6+ miles in a urban area. Is there such a thing? Not regular 2 way, as I understand CB radios are more powerful correct? If there is also any security features / hopping to them that would be nice. Thank you.


no... dont count on CB.

handhelds are no good. you will get much more range out of walkie talkies, and some of the better ones have some nice security features as well.

i love CB's but im telling you, regular walkie talkies will work better for your situation.

Cobra makes good cb radios. I believe that the K40 or the Wilson antennas are the best. Best of luck.
