canopy wireless

My uncle has a SmartBro canopy and I don't know how to connect to SmartBro using WiFi to access internet in my laptop. SmartBro is a Direct-To-Home Wireless Internet from Smart base stations.

SmartBro is created by Smart Communications. Smart Communications is from the Philippines. Smart Communications is the wholly-owned mobile phone subsidiary of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT).

In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) put 169.254.3.3 Subnet Mask 255.255.0.0, and after that double click INTERNET EXPLORER, then put 169.254.1.1 in the address bar and hit enter.

I have a wireless internet using Motorola Canopy, I would like to share it with my 3 PCs. My problem is I don't exactly know how to setup my speedstream 6520 as a router ( i'm not gonna use it as an ADSL modem). Any idea?Thanks.

The speedstream 6520 is a dsl modem/wireless router combo. You can access the 6520 setup by going to http://192.168.254.254 and the default username and password should be admin/admin. From there it would have the options for the connection and wireless setup.

Im looking to start a wireless ISP, and need info on the equipment and cost. Ive researched Motorola Canopy, but Im looking for alternatives.

well, let's just say just for the internet connection needed for a wireless ISP you are looking at maybe $10-20,000 a month minimum.

I get wireless internet (antenna on the roof etc) from wirelessbeehive.com
Everything works ok EXCEPT now I can't log onto my favorite game SecondLife. I get halfway thru the login process to, "Waiting for Region Handshake" then get the message, "Login Packet Never Received by Login Server."
So something is preventing me somehow from logging in completely. I've tried reinstalling the game and disabling McAfee Firewall but that didn't work either.

Please Help me figure this out. Thx
P.S. Wirelessbeehive.com uses the 'new' Motorola Canopy technology if thats any help.

If you have Windows XP with SP2, you might have the Windows Firewall turned on too. Open your Control Panel and look at the Windows Firewall setting.

From what I understand beehive is totally awesome. I don't think that they are blocking that service. The error message might be bogus, where there is something wrong, but not what it says.

I looked at the SecondLife support pages, it does say this:

But if this worked with beehive before, you are probably OK.

So now I wonder if you have some nasty Spyware or something that slows you down. You should have an anti-spyware solution on your computer. I recommend that you go to http://www.download.com and get AD-AWARE and SpyBot Search & Destory. Install, run, update and scan your computer with both programs. (you have to run these manually)

i have a 2.4 motorola canopy wireless modem

do i just take the tranceiver off my 40ft tower when i go out in my rv at the lake and bring the ethernet cable and power supply?

heres what it looks like but mines on a 40ft tower

That should be all you have to do, I have moved them for friends the only issue is getting it pointed towards a tower.
