cb radio amps

How many amps do i need to push a CB car radio that runs at 13.8v. I have searched the internet for this and i cant find it for anything.

a 3amp fuse comes with cb radios that have fuses already installed, even if you have your radio tuned to push 20w its not 20w of power, like your thinking. So the 3amp fuse still works, its what i use on my galaxy dx959 which pushes almost 30watts sideband

I've heard of Cb linear amps that boost power but I really know nothing of how they operate. Are they just plug and go or are they complicated to use? I'm thinking of buying an old tube type amp but I might just be wasting my money...Anybody??

If you have no knowledge of radio frequency emissions, honestly... for your safety it is best to leave that subject alone. CB amplifiers are illegal for a reason. CBers require no training. If you do not know what you are doing, stay away.

I bought a cb amp it says la 900 on the front. it has three power mods and a ssb side to it. is this a good mobile cb amp? i payed 300 dollers for it. it looks like new.

sounds pretty good.... it probably does about 700watts, i dont know who makes it. and its got a delay for SSB Talking. thats pretty awesome.... anything called pre amp? or rx amp?

look up hooking up amps, its not as easy as one may think...

you may need to upgrade an alternator depending on the vehicle, and ground, other wise you may get shocked through your mic.

you don't need any amp to run a PA speaker on a CB, it runs with the 4 watts that is built into the radio.

I am going to install an inline fuse, and i do not know how many amps the fuse should be....would 20 amps work?

if you dont know much about it, and have some small standard 40 channel cb you can use a 3 amp fuse, 5 would still be ok, but any bigger than that wont do anything for protection....

if you have a big 2 digit galaxy, a connex, a general lee, a magnum, or anything like that you may need a much bigger fuse.

any radio with diffrent "bands" (A B C D E F G) will need a much bigger fuse....

if you have no idea what im talking about use a 3 amp fuse.
