How do I suppress noise in my Harley Davidson motorcycle cb radio?

I have a 2000 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic with built in CB radio. It's very quiet with the engine off. When I start the motor I get a wining noise. How can I suppress some of that noise?


If this just recently started you might have a loose connection. Also there is a noise filter in the wire that brings power to the radio. Perhaps it has gone bad and needs to be replaced.

is a chatterbox a CB radio?

I know they have channels. looking at the x1 it has 15 channels, r those 15 CB channels or just 15 channels that only ppl with chatter box's can pick up? and if the chatter box cant be used as a CB radio what would be the best most portable option for a CB radio for a motorcycle?


No chatterbox is an FRS or FRS/GMRS frequency radio. Midland makes a CB for on bike or hand held so it's pretty dang portable.
