is it possible for me to connect this cb radio to my house so that i can talk to my other car but have a base one at my house?

Yeah also need to make sure you have proper grounding though, depending on what you choose for the cb antenna set up. You will need a car battery and a charger.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: my friend has that exact same CB and it does not have a built in SWR meter. If you are familiar with cb's, then you know what i am talking about. On every single cb set up reguardless, you HAVE to tune the cb antenna. You will need to buy an external SWR meter to tune the cb so you get maximum distance to talk. Also if you do not tune any of your cb's, and the SWR (standing wave ratio) is not good, it has very very good potential (and definitly will) ruin the cb.

My boyfriend wants a CB radio for his off roading vehicle that he has. I was looking at the Cobra 29 LTD Proffesional (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d o?product_id=5544178#reviews) ... does anyone know if this is a really good one or not. If not, what do you recommend?

yes that is a real good radio, cobra was one of the best radios made back in the CB hayday of the 70's, now all he needs is a good antenna for it, tell him not to go cheap on that as the antenna is 95% of being able to talk good with the radio.

i was wanting some reviews on the cobra 29 wx .like the one you see at radio shack with the night light on it.how good does it recieve and transmit.

the cobra 29 is a good c.b.--especially attached to a linear amp-- retired commercial driver for over 30 years

Cobra 19 Ultra III Citizen Band Radio. its a 4 watt radio for 34 bucks from walmart, it has mixed reviews but most are encouraging. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d o?product_id=4642484

If as someone said, you understand CB radio is different than FRS (you do get more range, but you do get more noise and will get interference due to skip) it's a good beginner radio.

Used many of the Cobra CB radio line. Usually a radio like this for $34 will do it's universal job of getting you on the air and talking. However there is no way to cut some of the interference down except for the squelch (the one reviewer that rated it bad, must of thought it was like a FRS radio, which it's not)

remember you will need a outside antenna to get better range (more money) but normally this is a true 2-3 mile radius radio (unlike FRS that claims 2 but can't get more than 1 at most in my testing)

IF you've never had a CB radio, read this first before buying
