i got a cb radio for my 1992 jeep cheroke and its got an hatcback so i got the antena mount and etc and the radio, but the mount is for the hood is there a way i can put it in the rear of my car by the hatchback?
There are several different ways you could do it. First off you could order another aftermarket mount, there are many different brands that have them. Another solution is you could fabricate one yourself, or have somebody do it for you. This is simple, just find a bolt and work your way from there. Or you could simply mount it straight to your bumper. Just find a bolt or drill a hole. A lot of it depends on looks, and what you want. If you can do it yourself then go for it. Hope this helps, if you want more help or just to talk contact me at justainmiller@yahoo.com.

we want to get a cb radio for our jeep grand cherokee. we are driving from ny to cali. right thru the heart of america. will the cb radio work pretty much everywhere? and what is their main purpose, is it a free for all or specific stations for specific things. we are getting it for safety reasons if our cell phones dont work but is there any sort of rule or regulations involving their use? can we just search for a station and start talking about whatever?
It will work everywhere. Channel 9 is an emergency channel, and channel 19 is generally where most truckers hang out.
If you do have an emergency, you may be better off broadcasting on channel 19 - more likely that someone will hear you there.
CB radio's work everywhere, but must be in close range of each other. A small handheld CD may only have a range of 1-2 miles, whereas a large CB antenna (like on a tractor trailer) may be able to reach 10-20 miles.
If you travel and listen to the trucker channel you'll find out about road conditions, traffic, accidents, and the location of police/highway patrol well before you see them. Just watch out if you have children, channel 19 is often PG-13 or R.

I don't want to use magnetic mount antennas, but I don't want to drill into the body for NMO mounts either. Any suggestions? I was thinking of using the FireStik door jamb mount and putting them on both sides of the liftgate.
If your Jeep has a Roof Rack, you might fabricate some sort of mount that attaches to it.

This capability also permits multiple search functions.
Song/album titles, artist names, and track length - memorized by connected iPod.
Just like looking for files stored on a PC, iPod-recorded songs may be sorted according to registered playlists.
The Repeat Playback function offers two options - repeat playing of a particular song or playback of all tunes.
Function for Random Playback.
i recently aquired a cherokee nightrider 100, and i love it. the only thing is that it has a switch that says normal, cdt, and cds. does anyone know what that switch is about. also a light comes on when you switch it to one of those settings.
14. "CLEAR DRIVE" SWITCH (CDS/CDT/NOR)
This switch is used to enable the "Clear Drive" audio compander circuit of the radio to provide clear and low noise communications between similarly equipped units. CDS = "Clear Drive System". Makes full use of the Compander feature. Select this when both the transmitting unit and receiving unit are using Compander. CDT = "Clear Drive Transmit". Increases the clarity of your transmission when communicating with others not having a Compander. The receiver Compander in the unit will be disabled in this mode to match the non-compressed received signals. NOR = Normal CB Operation without using the Compander.
