I know google offers this...I'm unsure whether their software is "safe" in terms of protecting my privacy. I've heard countless stories about how low they rank in the "respect privacy" top;)

Is there another source for desktop customization with weather alerts, stocks, rss feeds?

Or how can I install the least invasive google desktop thing?

I am a novice at so many computer tasks. My task bar has totally changed in location, and icons.?

When I added a desktop weather alert icon to my taskbar, my day and date disappeared and when I tried to add it back on, I managed to completely relocate my taskbar, went to the side vertically, and clicking anywhere and everywhere will not change it back. I cannot get it back to the bottom of my desktop. Even when I try to cutomize my icons by hiding and showing, they will not respond to my applying. Can you help? You have many times before. Thanks.


You should be able to move the taskbar back to the bottom this way:

1.Right click in the taskbar and make sure the Lock The Taskbar item is not checked.
2.Drag and drop the taskbar back to the bottom of the screen.
3.Right click again in the taskbar, this time checking the Lock The Taskbar item.
