johnson cb radio

I believe the Johnson used the same power cord as the Cobra if you don't have one.
If you have the power cord put red wire to a 12 volt supply and the black wire to a good ground (something metal under the dash should work)
Make sure you have an antenna connected before you key the mic, if you don't you will fry the older radios.

it's brown it's got three knobs on the front 1 for volume1 forsquelch and 1 for channels it's got 23 channel's can any one help me is it worth keeping it's got 50th on front johnson cb radio

I am in law and also part time communications. i would see what others would offer before a hit sell. older radios have editable features on the main boards that new ones dont. for example, old kenwood 2 way radios had a feature no one knew about till recently in public, you could change the transmit and recieve range on the main board with turn screw type knobs. you wouldnt know unless you opened the radio. newer stuff is set to where it cant be modified by the board or software. so who knows, might have something inside someone wants. ebay, then set a reserve price so if the reserve high is not met you can start the bid over and up it of you want.

it turns on, tubes light up, and keys when i press the mic but nothing happens. girlfriend can hear me on channel 20 about 50yds. away and hears other people but i can not. whats the deal?

Where do you live, as in what town? There are several that I know of that are trust worthy with equipment and do excellent work. I have a Texas Ranger that has been converted to have cb channels also. It has been peaked and tuned. I can talk while going down the road to people that are 20 miles away and all I use for antennas are 5 ft Fire sticks. At night while using the short wave channels I have skipped a signal all the way to Australia and have heard some languages that I couldn't even come close to understanding. I had Conex finals put in as well and that seems to help.There is a guy in Weatherford, 2 in San Antonio, I know of one in Dallas, but I have heard some bad things about him. There is also a guy here in El Paso that does excellent work.

By the way, have you checked your antenna? What kind do you have? I take it you have a base station, how much power are you putting out? And what does the signal meter show when you recieve and transmit?
