Like most other head units, you simply push and hold the preset button. When you first push it, the sound will go away, and once it is set, you will be able to hear the radio station again. At this point, you can release the button.

I recently bought a second hand Merc with a Kenwood radio but minus the book. It seems that every 10 minutes the traffic and news cuts into whatever I am listening to. I have tried pressing all the buttons but cant get rid of it. Can anyone help please?

This part of the RDS function of the radio, and is called TA/TP, and it provides traffic announcements that interrupt your normal listening. There has to be a button on the radio somewhere that will turn off the TA/TP function, and this should be confirmed by the TA symbol disappearing from the display.

If you go to the Kenwood site, and checkout their downloadable manuals, you should be able to get an instruction booklet/user manual for your head-unit.

I have recently bought and installed a Kenwood KDC-W3041 car radio.
The radio works fine: CDs, FM/AM and AUX input work.
I can save presets on the radio, but when I take the keys out of the ignition, all the presets disappear, along with all the settings that I have just changed. It seems to revert back to factory settings. The only setting that has stayed OFF is the demo mode.

How can I fix this - I'm already sick of re-tuning my radio every time i get in my car!

I can think of two possibilities:

One is that you have not programed the radio stations properly. Usually you put on the station you want and then press and hold the button you want to store it as.

More likely though, your radio is not wired to trickle power while the car is off. Does the time reset every time you turn the car off? It probably is not installed correctly, or has a faulty wire.

I have just bought a Kenwood KDC-W3041A to replace the existing radio in a 1999 Vauxhall Corsa 1.0L Envoy but cannot get it to work. I know power is getting to it at the CD player makes noises when I press the eject button but the radio will not work when I try to turn it on. Nothing appears on the screen. I have a blue/white cable and a brown cable free (power control/motor antenna control cable and mute cable respectively) and not sure whether these should be connected to somewhere. Any helpful comments would be appeciated.

you have to hook up the back up battery should be yellow i think into the power try that and see what happens

It is trying to read a CD or has got stuck in reading mode typically after switching from tuner to CD. They are not a very good unit in this rspect I am told
