I'm not sure if you'll still want to go through with it after I tell you how much the part cost. The part you need is made by Kenwood and the model is KTC-HR200. It costs around $130.

HD RADIO? Does the quality of the unit matter or does HD radio just suck that bad?

I have a Dual Model XHD-7714 radio that I bought about 2 months ago off ebay cause it had all the loaded features I was looking for. (Ipod / bluetooth / HD all built-in) I was particularly intrigued by the built-in HD radio tuner so I went with this unit even though I know Dual is a cheap name brand. Now the problem is alot of times on the HD stations you can't even listen to a whole song without the music stops and the display says "LINKING" which I'm assuming means it's searching for a signal and this ESPECIALLY happens too in between songs when the DJ is talking ,which I like to listen to talk radio shows but it always starts "LINKING" during talk portions. I'm getting so frusterated with it and I'm thinking about just buying a better quality radio and then buy the HD radio tuner seperate but not sure if that will even solve my problem so my question: Is HD radio just not that advanced yet meaning this happens alot with all HD radio signals no matter what unit you have or does this just happen with crappy brands like Dual which in my opinion doesn't have a very good FM tuner to begin with? I'm looking at getting a Kenwood Model KDC-MP538U or one of the Alpine IDA models even though those don't have a CD player and then I can just buy a HD tuner seperate if you guys think it's worth getting one??? (no point in getting one if I'm just gonna have the same "lost signal" problems I'm having now) The Kenwood model (with 3 line text display) & Alpine both seem to have great Ipod controlabilty so thats why I'm leaning towards getting one of those but if you guys have any other suggested models please let me know. Thanks for your help.
It seems everytime I ask a question on here, I get very few answers. Does anybody use yahoo answers anymore? Is there a better place to ask my questions other than yahoo?

get the jvc model the model number is kd-hdr30 u cant go wrong thats what i have and im very please with it i had problems with my too but not as much as u have i think the signal is just not gettin thru bc of buildings
