nascar scanner

I have a Radio Shack Pro-99 with the NASCAR frequencies but frequencies and car #s have changed. How do I update this with the latest information?
www.nascar.com? i don't see anything about scanner frequencies.

If you are going to any races, you can buy the frequencies for $5.

I have seen at Nascar events where you can rent race scanners, but they are normally $75 for the weekend with a $500 deposite.
I have seen them for around $150 to buy on ebay, just was wondering there was a better place.

You can buy a simple Radio Shack police/fire scanner. Essentially the same thing, but a much lower price.

my dad loves to listion to in car audio when listioning to the race. Its fine when he comes over to my house because i get it off the internet. He doesnt have a computer and has no interest in getting one (way over his head) does any one know of listioning to in car audio with out a computer at home?

You can buy Scanner's with Nascar freq's already programmed. But unless you are right there at the race you are waisting your money because you will not receive any transmissions.

While listening to the trackscanner a guy is always calling out numbers..why?

If you are listening to "Scan all drivers", they say the car number before a blip of audio. I recommend picking 1 driver to listen to.

If you don't have a favorite driver, Dale Jr and Kyle Busch are 2 of the most talkative. Chad Knaus talks all the time on Jimmie's (Jimmie is talkative, too).

I'm planning on going to the Nascar race this June at Infineon, and I'd like to rent a scanner to listen to my man Jeff Burton. But I don't know the best way to get a scanner for the race. Should I get one there and risk them running out, or find a place in my area to get one? I live in the central valley, CA. And how much would it cost? Thanks guys!

Radioshack has them from $29.99 on up. I've see decent ones on sale in the store for $50-60 on clearance.
