Here Is An National Weather Service Alert For A Tornado Warning For Southeastern Cook County (Illinois) And Northwestern Porter County (Indiana).
One thing in the world that I am getting increasingly fed up with is "severe weather" alerts. Between April and September, every time there is a cloud in the sky, we starting getting all sorts of warnings about "severe weather" and tornadoes. Every few days there is another severe thunderstorm watch or tornado warning. There is talk about damaging winds and large hail. But nothing ever happens!
Do you wish the local news and the National Weather Service would just shut the **** up about "severe weather" and stop trying to scare us all the time?
I agree totally and whenever it does rain, it only rains for like a minute then it gets normal

Tornados caused damage, injuries, and death last night in several US communities. On Sat. January 4, a levee broke at 4:00 am and flooded a small town in Nevada. If a similar emergency happened in your community while you were asleep, how would you know? Do you have a Weather/Hazard Alert radio?
The US National Weather Service broadcasts alerts and devices with alarms are available. I'd love to know how other countries address alerting their citizens.
We have had our Alert Radio since 1998, when 43 people were killed by tornados that came through just before 2:00 am

it's so sad!!
I have a NOAA Weather Radio with a severe weather alert alarm which is alerted from the National Weather Service in Upton,NY with the transmitter in New York City. Last night around 1:35 am EDT the alarm went off and I woke up and turned it on and all I heard for the 2 minutes that I had it on was this long beeping sound. Then I turned the weather radio off and about 5 seconds later the alarm wnet off again and I tunred it on and I heared that beeping noise again then I turned it off and then the alarm went off again and I still heard the same beeping sound. So then I turned off the alert tone and when the alert tone is off and there's a weather alert a red light flashes and I saw the light flash until about 1:45 am and then I turned it on again and it was still beeping so then I just ignored it and fell back asleep. It wasn't a test because they test the alarm Wednesdays at 11:00 am. So then what was going on?
The end of the world.....
Nah just messing. Was think of a really good film i watched last night.
Maybe jus a tech fault.
