I have a RadioShack Pro-95 scanner. I have the manual but I am still confused about how I can program it to trunk.

Trunk programming can be tricky. I personally don't bother with it. All I do is enter all my cities frequencies and then when the data channel changes, I just lock it out. I have to do it once a day or so. It is very easy to set up that way.

If you want help with the scanner, go to your local Radio Shack and they will help you.

I have an opportunity to buy a Radio Shack Pro-95 scanner for $75. But someone was trying to explain the 'trunking' business and 'digital trunking' and how the scanner might be useless if the police/fire/whatever agencies have switched to digital. So far as I can tell, the Pro-95 is not digital. So, does that mean the radio will just sit there quietly, or will there still be something to monitor? Thanks.

Radio Shack is worthless. Used to be a great electonics parts store in the 60's and 70's. Now, its just a Circuit City clone and the products are cheap, with no warrantee backup.

i would like to hear the police in my area and i think they use a trunked system but have no idea what the numbers are and how to program them in. im in gaithersburg maryland and i have a pro 95 radioshack scanner.

My dad is a volunteer firefighter (retired) - and still likes to stay abreast of the emergencies in the surrounding area

I have had my Radio Shack Pro-95 Police Scanner for about 3 years... if you know about scanners you know that you choose channels you want to scan.. for example my scanner is programmed for my county and has 8 channels for different departments... well i chose for it to scan channel 1, 2, 4, and 6, but it will NEVER scan channel 2 anymore. It jumps right over it and will not even scan channel 2. Please help me figure out how to unlock channel two or whatever I need to do to get that channel working. THANKS!!!

It sounds like the lockout is set. Manually scan to channel 2, and then press the lock out button (Usually label l/out or l-out). That should unlock the channel and allow it to scan the channel again.
