radio scanner

Hey all x

Im wondering if i buy a radio scanner, will i be able to listen to like Taxi transmissions, Shopping centre radio and similar things also PMR 466? As i would only need it for these things..

And does anyone know how far my radio scanner would reach, in terms of range?

And finally, does it scan automatically for radio activity?

I got 2 and they both work fine range depends on your Ariel, you can buy a dipole put it out side, and yes the do scan automatically, you can set a priority channel

Just a quick review of of the Radioshack PRO-164 radio scanner. I#39;m still learning how to use it to listen to the police but it picks up ...

I have bought a Uniden Radio Scanner but cant manage to get any of the frequencies to work. Can anyone tell me how you do this?

I recently bought a Uniden Bearcat BCT15 Radio Scanner and I am trying to locate some software to help me programs the various frequencies from my area of Pennsylvania. I find it extremely difficult to understand as I have never used a scanner before and would like to. Any suggestions / ideas ? Do you know of any local radio clubs for zipcode 17876 ? Many thanks ! You can do anything in India.
I once started shooting birds middle of a street with my rifle.
Also ran away from the police because they were checking for passports or something. I don't know.

If you ever get caught, all you do is bribe the police to let you go.
Everything is legal in India if you have the cash.

How can i improve radio reception for my scanner.

Get a larger antena.
Be sure that the antena impedance matches your scanner.
be sure that the wave length of the new antenae matches your desired freq.
Move the antena to a higher location.
Avoid using boosters, or signal amplifiers as they will not give you the results you are looking for. Boosters do not give more signal, they amplify the signal so you can then divide the signal to more devices or run the signal along a longer cable. They will not improve signal to noise ratio which is what you need to do. You need a better aerial.
