how do i hook this up to the ciggy adapter i got at radioshack? it has a red slot and a black slot. PLEASE HELP!!!
well the cig adaptor, when it opens up should be pretty easy to understand, it probably has a + and a - on something in it.... chances are the more center of the two connectors is + and the outer one is -
www.cbradiomagazine.com This is a short overview of the Realistic TRC-430 from Radio Shack. This CB radio is very compact and the modulation can ...
ok i have a realistic trc-477 cb and it has two wires out the back(red and black) and it says beside it 138v so do i just hook it straight to the battery like red to + and Black to -. Thanks for your time
there ant no fuse on it
You sure it doesn't say 13.8v, if so it's a direct connect to the power source. Probably a 5 amp fuse on the red side. My first c.b. was a Radio Shack, smoked in a week, garbage. Go Cobra.
Radio Shack's electronics products are usually made by another company. The CB's are likely by someone like Uniden.
Use for AM, FM, USB, LSB, Radios.

Works With Any CB Radio UK or USA
I have a Realistic TRC-208 CB radio, and I want to improve the range on it by doing some electrical stuff, not just standing on a hill or away from power lines or something. I want to amplify the transmission, or tweak something on the inside.
Is there anything that can be done without having to necessarily purchase anything?
Thanks.
Your previous answer saying that modifying the radio for more power being illegal is 100% rite !
The radio was designed for a certain amount of power output , and then tuned to provide that......adjusting the settings in the radio will MORE THAN LIKELY REDUCE YOUR POWER OUTPUT.
Not only that , but it will likely then cause more interference to neighbours TV and radio sets , this will in turn get you reported to the FCC , and then they will come and fine your ass off.
So , if you like that idea , then feel free to 'tweak'.
However , if you would like to increase your range dramatically and do so legally , then do so with a good antenna.
The difference between say a car whip and a 5/8 vertical is light years apart.
PS , FCC violations often incur heavy fines and may result in a federal police record , one that never goes away - use your brains.
Anyone have a user manual for this model cb. I bought it at a garage sale and dont know what the settings should be. Thanks
