Can the cigarette lighter in a car be used to power a comm radio?
Cavs Opener 6607

I have a mobile Comm Radio (Tait T2000) for my car, but I don't want to cut holes in my firewall to route wires. Is it possible to use the cigarette lighter/power supply to supply power to my radio, or does it have to have wires routed directly to the battery.

What is it at most...25 watts?
You should be able to power it from the cig lighter. At that power rating, it should only pull around 2 amps, give or take a half amp.
