1000 watt car amp

i want to run a car amp and a radio deck in my room what do i need to power them.

A 25 ampere 13.8 volt DC bench-top power supply will push a 350 watt RMS system at a cost of about $100 just for the supply.

I'm installing two 12' Fusion subs at 700 watts a piece, and im using a 1000 watt amp. Also can i use like 12 gauge wire to wire the amp power on to my head unit?

no.

use proper wire made to resist against oils and the elements.

just buck up and buy the proper wires, they should run about $75 for a 1000watt amp.

i need information from start to finish because i have no clue what i need, down to the wires and everything, any help would be appriecated

I will tell you basic to begin if you need/want more e-mail me

Power
1. Connect wire to postive side of battery
2. Fuse within a foot of battery
3. Go through firewall (NEVER THROUGH A DOOR JAM)
4. Run it too trunk or under a seat if you want it for theft protection
5. Connect to 12v terminal of amp
Ground
1. Find a bolt that is connected to chassis or frame
2. Connect to amp
3. No more than 3 feet is ideal
Remote
1. Find blue wire behind cd player
2. Run it the same side as the power wire to the amp
RCA
1. Plug into cd play
2. Run to amp on OTHER side of car for sound quality
Subs
1. Connect wires inside box and install
2. Positive goes to Positive and negative goes to negative
3. Bridge at amp by creating one channel
A. Use postive on one channel and negative on other
B. There will be a positive and negative left over

REMEMBER 12 VOLTS HURT use caution i.e. disconnect negative on battery while installing system

It depends on what you mean by "good." A 1000 watt sub will be plenty loud, so if getting heard is what you mean by good then yes it will do. If you're looking for quality then that all depends on the brand and model of your setup. It can vary a lot.

While it is true that 1000 watts is decent, you need to make sure that your battery/car is able to give it that power. You'll need at least 4 gauge wire, probably more like 0 gauge. If you go any smaller than 4 gauge then you'll starve your system for power, and it won't get to it's full potential. You'll also risk damage to your components. Another thing is make sure your battery can keep up. For that kind of power you might need a capacitor or a new alternator. 1000 watts RMS or max is quite a bit for a car battery to handle by itself, so just be aware. Good luck.

You can get away with a quality 4 ga kit, however the cost difference betwen 4 ga and 0 ga is really pretty minimal, and might be worth, just going 0 ga. this allows for future add ons with no worries of wire capabilities. Be aware that many no name wire kits (often found on ebay) have a funny way to measure wire ga. if i didn't know better they include the jacketing. they are tiny, and i would not trust them to do the job. even if you were to buy a 0 ga. from them.
