1000 watt car audio amplifier

My friend sold me the subs and he said all I needed was a 1000 watt amp. Would this amp work for the subs?

You should get an amp with at least 2000 watts rms..

i have here a 1000 watts car audio power amp and i need it to be converted on a public address power amp that has inputs for microphone and guitar.but i don't know what to do..cud someone please tell me on how to do it?

Your car amplifier runs from 12V, so you need a 12V power source which is able to deliver at least 100 amperes to get satisfactory results.

RadioShack won't have anything as powerful as that.

You could consider using a heavy duty battery charger.

And you will also need to drive the amplifier with a mixer which has inputs for your microphone and guitar.

I just recieved a 1000 watt cummings 4 channel amplifier for my car, number 5263. Anyhow I have been trying to do research on this amp and I can't find anything. The woman who gave me the amp claims its only 6 months old. I can find anything online about the cummings brand amplifiers. I was trying to find a price on it, because I got this amp as partial trade for selling my car. Any info would be great! Thank you!

Maybe they do exist, but I've been around car audio for a long time, & I haven't heard of it, but w/ that said try some websites for car audio, if not, it maybe used to exist.

i was looking at the kicker solobaric l7 15 inch. with a Kicker ZX1000.1 ZX Amp Car Audio 1000 Watt Mono Amplifier. just wondering if i should get a 2 ohm sub or 4?

It depends on whether you are using 1 sub or 2. The ZX1000.1 is 2 ohm stable, so a dual 4 ohm model can be wired to produce either a 2 ohm load or 8 ohm load on a monoblock amp like the ZX1000.1, if going with 2 subs than you need the dual 2 ohm models so you can wire them to run 2 ohms together from the one output by wiring the subs to make a 4 ohm load at the subs and running the speaker connections together to make a 2 ohm load at the amp. To make a single 4 ohm sub into a 2 ohm sub you wire the positive and negative from the speaker box to subs then wire the positive and negatives to the second set of voice coils so + to + to + and - to - to -.
