All of Velocity new amps are class A/B. Are they suitable for subs? Aren't they suppose to produce class D monoblock amps for subs? And the CLass A/B velocity amps are so high wattage, they can't be meant for component speakers.
Classes of amplifiers boils down to efficiency. Class D is more efficient than A/B.
You can use either D or A/B for subs.

hello,
I have a JVC KD-S891R and want to install a Blaupunkt THA 475 Amplifier in my car.
I think there is no remote turn-on switch on my car stereo to connect it to the amplifier.
The amplifier has an input for this remote turn-on.
What should I do? What if I forget about this switch thing and connect everything else? The amp will operate all the time this way?
Thank you very much.
The JVC KD-S891R does have an amp remote wire unless it has been ripped out of the plug. It is blue with a white stripe. If that wire is missing from the radio plug then connect the amps remote to the red wire at the radio. This will turn the amp on and off with the ignition key as stated in the previous answers.

--Pioneer TS-W307D2 12" sub - 1200W max, 400W RMS - http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/P roducts/CarAudioVideo/Subwoofers/Champio n/TS-W307D2%7CD4
Now my sub is currently connected (and bridged) to the amplifier. What i wanna do is connect my speakers next (because they are running off the head unit at the moment).
Can anyone recommend how to do this? and also, will this blow my speakers since they will be getting like 300W of power....
any suggestions?
thanks in advance
When your amplifier is bridged like that, you only have 2 channels. You will need at least 3 channels to drive your front speakers and a sub. You could could unbridge your amp to get 4 channels. But you will have an unused channel and less sub power than you had before.
You could buy another Pioneer TS-W307D2 and that would help a little. However you would have to run the subs in 4 ohms so you will still have a little less power than you had. You will need to buy 2 2-ohm subs (WS307D4's) and that will get you better power than you had before.
Also that amp won't blow your Blaupunkts because its rms rating is 130W at 4 ohms which is no problem for those 2-ways. The 300 watt rating is a "peak" rating which is a marketing tool used by questionable companies to fool guys who don't know the difference.
so i was wondering that if can connect both the subs at 1ohm and ya they are dvc subs and something written as 4/4 ohm i guess that means each coils nominal impedance......so pl help me can i connect them to 1ohm or will my subs distort or maybe fry.......or should i connect them to 2ohms????
Is this for automotive application?
Where do you get 1000W from?
