boss amps

i was wondering if anyone could tell me the quality of these amps? i currently have two DUB200 subs http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuse action=product.display&Product_ID=30 37 (i know kinda lame but im 16... i bought what i could afford) and i was wondering if this would be a good choice of amp for them http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuse action=product.display&Product_ID=38 42 ?

Dude dont buy that amp just go to ebay and you can get a better 1000 watt amp for around the same price buy better so you can have it longer. i started out with some crappy stuff and since then i have changed it all out its not worth it

are they anywhere close to true power ratings i know there not cea2006 but are they close on power rating.and how durable and good sounding are they

You couldn't give me any of them. HiFonics used to be good, until they sold out to Maxxsonics. I used to use them, until Series VIII. That was the last good ones. Some people say Series VII was the last good one. Regarding burning up JL amps, any amp will be toast if you try to run it at too low an impedence. IE amp is rated into a 2-ohm load, and you try to run it at 1-ohm. It will be toast if you run it that way very long.

Here is a list I keep handy. I wrote this based on my opinion, and other peoples, that are respected highly for their knowledge on some forums I am on:

Good brands, including but not limited to: Alpine, Rockford Fosgate, Kicker, JL Audio, Soundstream, ARC Audio, Cadence, Diamond Audio, Focal, Dayton (subs), Precision Power, some MTX, RE audio, Fi car audio, Sundown Audio, Hertz, MB Quart, Zapco, Infinity, Incriminator Audio, Missing Link Audio, JBL, Mach5, Ascendent audio, and DC sound labs, Digital Designs, Pioneer Premier; old school brands: Lanzar, Hifonics, Orion, and Phoenix Gold.

Mediocre brands (brands that are good for the money, but there is better): Quantum Audio, Sony ES line, Memphis (I have heard of lot's of problems with their amps), Dual, Infinity (in my opinion), Pioneer, Kenwood (in my opinion).

Junk brands, including, but not limited to: Pyramid, Boss, Profile, Lanzar (except old school Lanzars), HiFonics (again except old school, series VIII and earlier), Legacy, American Pro, Rampage, MA Audio, Alphasonik, Crunch, Lightning Audio, Visionik, Audiovox, Volfenhag, Rockwood, Jensen, American Legacy, Soundstorm, Audiobahn, SPX, Sony Explod line, VR3, JVC, Pyle. Any thing at Wal-Mart, or an auto parts store.

I hear a lot of negative talk about their subs but are their amps worth picking up specifically the Boss SE2500D. i plan on putting a lot of money on the subs im getting and would rather they not blow up

if your going to spend good money on the subs why take there lively hood away by using a below average amp?? boss amps are ok the only reason they stay in business is because they are cheap and folks think they are getting a good deal when they are truley not. and the memphis cauraudio line of the alphasonik line of amps are better than the hifonics. imo ther is no best amp out there. its all about preference. hope this helps

so I have 2 12' MTX subs..
The amp I had pushed them like hell loved it but its time for a new amp..
So many people say that Boss sucks.. GOD I hope this is NOT true because I just bought a Boss CX350 its a 400W amp..
Dont need anymore then that because right now Im only running one of my MTXs.

i have boss door speakers and they sound good so im guessing a amp by boss is pretty good but im not sure make sure you have a warrenty

I am going to put a sound system in my car (subwoofers, amp, tweeters) and I know a guy that has the boss chaos c700 1200 watt amp for $150 used and a rockford fosgate punch 200 amp used for $135. My other option is the sony xplod amp from walmart. I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about these amps , and if they are priced well. Thanks in advance!

Boss isn't a good brand.

Don't buy any audio equipment from Wal-Mart.

Look for CEA-2006 compliant amps.
