HELP! HELP! HELP!?... I KNOW U WANT BEST ANSWER!!!!!!!!? WHO WANTS A+ TODAY?

The caps are so inexpensive and easy to replace with a small soldering iron that you could simply replace them and see if it fixed the problem. If you measure the resistance across the terminals of a capacitor, it should read an open circuit. If instead it reads a short circuit or low resistance, you have a shorted capacitor.

Does anyone know where i can get the repair manual for the car amp sony xm2165gtx?

they do not sell a repair manual for amplifiers. you have to be trained on circuit board technology. and know how to test and diagnose the problem or send it in to the manufacturer. or take it to a local repair shop that repairs amps.
i strongly reccomend that if you dont have this knowledge do not try and fix it yourself because you can make it ten times worse.

Anyone know of a good Amplifier(amp for car sub) repair shop in Maryland?

I have a MRP-M850 Alpine amp that was powering a 15" Type-R Alpine Sub, when the amp blew out. There is power running to the amp from the battery, so the amp's power light comes on but there is no output to the sub. I really need to get this repaired instead of replaced, the amp cost me $200-something and I'm in no mood to just toss it for another expensive one.

Depending on what "blew", it may not be worth it to get it repaired. I live in Maryland, but dont know any shops that repair amps. You may be stuck like Chuck on this one. If you want to ship it out to be repaired, i know Db-r electronics is a dependable and fair place to fix it.

Hope this helps,

These are gate resistors. Resistors are usually put in series with the “gates” of mosfets to limit the current flowing into the gate. When a transistor fails and a short circuit occurs between the “gate and “source” or “drain” tremendous current is pulled thru the “gate” resistor causing it to fail.
