how well are the hifonics amplifiers built the new ones anyway im looking at droppin alot of money on my next system. re 15 inch se series subs a custom built by a local audio shop for my avalanche box. and a kenwood excellon deck. at the place im getting it done they tell me that treo and zapco and arc audio are the best amps but there SO expensive! how does a hifonics brutus bxi 1608d compare to those brands and can re subs stand up to treo subs. let me know i greatly appcriciate it
i hear they are not built very well and they overheat and are inefficient with power...i would suggest audioque amps for ur case...they are very cheap and very efficient and supply clean watts to ur woofers....they also put out a lot more than they say....they are cheap because they dont have fancy accessory parts on them...all enternal components are the main thing ur paying for and these amps are as good as they get....check em out

I've heard some people say HiFonics is overrated when it comes to RMS power. I was wondering, is that on every HiFonics amplifier or just on Class D amplifers. Or is it just things people make up beacuse they don't like this brand?
No not overrated, rated accordingly. They are used in competition so they can't be overrated, what I mean but that is simple, if you enter a comptetition for certain power range, you can't have an amplifier that is overrated used as it will give you a disadvantage over the others..... Don't worry and you will be happy with the results that you get.

im piecing a system together and wanted to get it right the first time around. i guess what i want to see is the diagram of the wires
You need to think about the RMS wattage that the amp puts out at a certain impedance(ohms). Compare that wattage to the RMS wattage for the subs. You can wire subs differently so the amp sees a different load(the ohms raiting). So if you hook the subs up in parallel then the ohms raiting is cut in half(if there are two of them). If you hook them up in series then you add the two numbers together. If the amp has more than one chanel output you can hook each sub up to its own output if you want. If they are dual voice coil it is like hooking up two subs for each sub you have.
For me, I have two kicker comp 12's and I have them hooked up in parallel with a mono(1 chanel output) amp. So, parallel is you hook the positive terminal of each sub up to the positive output from the amp, and the same way with the negatives.
RMS Power at 4 ohms: 650 watts x 1 chan.
Maximum Power Output: 2000 watts
RMS Power at 2 ohms: 1300 watts x 1 chan.

RMS Power at 1 ohms: 2000 watts x 1 chan.
hifonics are pretty good. they arent cea-compliant which means that you might not get all the watts they claim to give but they are some of the best amps out there, i recommend the brutus series(the only thing is that they require alot of power)
i have the hifonics brutus amp and when i listen to my subs i can hear a buzzing noise it kind of sounds distorted...not sure what the problem be but what do you think i should set the amps settings as, as far as getting red of this buzzing i have a level, sunsonic, phase, bass eq, lowpass what should i set them at?
Thanks
try an help me out
Well, it all depends on your Radio device. It might be the source of noise. To see if it is so, you can disconnect it off the Amp's input. if the noise is still there, make sure the amp is properly grounded. You should be able to tune your Amp, because it depends on what kind of subs you are using. So change every knob slowly and listen to what you get.

I bought these and I want to hook up one subwoofer to one amplifier. The subwoofer has dual voice coils but each voice coil has two positive and two negative slots. Each voice coil is 2 ohms as well The sub is rated at 1000 rms and 2000 peak. The amplifier is a d class rated at 1000 rms 2000 watt peak. It has two positive and two negative slots on it. How do I wire this subwoofer into the amplifier.
The subwoofer looks like this
Voice Coil 1 Voice Coil 2
l + + - - l l + + - - l
And the amplifier is like this as well
