I need to know how to hook up for a Jensen A800 multi channel amplifier (40w x 2max IC power) for a car.?

My son is installing an amplifier that his papa gave him. I have searched and can find nothing..its a booster for his stereo. He needs to know which wires go where.

It seems complicated but is simple in actuality. There's going to be wire connections for +12v, rem, ground, and 8 for speaker out. Basically, you'll want to buy a wiring kit (a packaged kit that comes with wires, a fuse holder, and a fuse). Most of them are labled with a wattage, try to match that with the wattage of your amp. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for safety. Now, wire the positive cable (the one with the fuse holder) to the positive terminal of the battery. The fuse holder is close to one end of the wire, make sure thats the end you connect to the battery. Then run the wire through the car to where your amp is mounted (under the passenger seat, in the trunk, wherever it might be safe), however you want (hiding it underneath trim panels is a good idea). Then wire it to the amp. You'll also want to run wire of the same gauge (thickness) as the +12v wire for the ground. Find a metal part of the car, and if there isn't a screw nearby, drill a hole (be careful where you drill, you might damage something underneath) and ground the wire to the metal part of the body. This goes to the ground part of the amp. The rem is for a remote turn on, so the amp turns on when you turn the key. You can find a rem lead typically somewhere behind your cd player. Most if not all aftermarket cd players have a rem somewhere. If not, find something that turns on only when you turn the key, and i believe you can wire it to the positive wire. I'm not sure though. Then for the speaker out, run speaker wire from each speaker to the amplifier, both positive and negative wires. The job isn't hard, but very time consuming.

How do I hook up my amp and subs to my car's receiver?

I currently have these items:
2003 Pontiac Grand Am SE1
2 12" Rockford Fosgate Punch Z Subs
1 500W Jensen XA2250 Amp
1 Tsunami Amplifier Power Kit
(• 850-watt power rating
• 4-gauge power/ground wires
• AGU fuse holder
• Hardware included)

The Amplifier kit comes with 6 cables and a diagramless paragraph on install. I have installed speakers and a cd changer and the deck before. Can someone give me info on how to install this thing?
I have the new JVC HD Radio tuner as my deck

Hooking it up is simple... connect to battery, connect audio cables from pre-out to amp, ground the amp, and plug in the speakers to the amp... As far as hiding and running the cables, it depends on your car... good luck!

Help with Car Amplifier Installation?

I'm piecing togeather a system for Van #3..I have a Performance Teknique ICBM 774 Amp and a Phase Linear ( Jensen )PMP180U CD Deck..I do Not have the manual for the Deck or the Amp..My problem is that the deck has 4 sets of speaker wires ( LF,LR,RF and RR) and 2 RC Style plugs marked Left Rear and Right Rear..Tha Amp has only RC jacks ( 1,2,3 + 4 CH )for input from the Deck...I am running 4 Identical speakers ( 2 front and 2 rear ) and I would like them to all have the same power....Any ideas on how to wire this up and what the amp settings would be ? Thanks......JD

Yes, get a pair of RCA Y-cables with females on the single side and males on the double side. Plug the males from one into both the left front and left rear of the amp. Plug the other Y into the right channels. Connect your long RCA cable to the female ends and the other end to the stereo.

Don't use the speaker wires on the radio.

Jensen amplifier, Kenwood subwoofer??? Help?

Amp and Sub combo??? help me out!?
Now, just so you know, I was given "VOUCHERS" to Repco & Autobarn, not cash, so I DID have to spend the voucher's there and then.
In my car I currently have two 6 x 9 Clarion's and a Pioneer head unit.
I went out and bought a $300 kenwood boxed sub, that the fellow was nice enough to mark down to $240 for me, as that's all the money i had worth of vouchers.
This is MY ACUTAL SUB:

And here is it's INFO/SPECS:

Claims that (Rated Input Power is 380W)

I then went to Repco, only having a $100 voucher, I got the best amp they had for that price, which was this:

Would that amp be able to power my sub?
Not my 6 x 9s...Just the sub?

no, not really it will only put out 160rms watts to one sub. thats like half of what you need. it will work but wont be that loud.

jensen or kenwood amp?

ok i have a rockford fosgate p3 12 inch sub that's 4 ohms and i need to know which would be a better amp to buy. its between the jensen power 900 amp seen here http://mobile.jensen.com/jensen/JensenPr oductDetail.do?ACTION_TYPE_ID=ACTION_TYP E_PRODUCT_DETAIL&ACTION_CATEGORY_ID= STR_CATEGORY_AMPLIFIER&ACTION_PRODUC T_ID=POWER900

or the kenwood KAC-8104D http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entertainm ent/Amplifiers/KAC-8104D

any input on which one to get and a good reason to get that one is GREATLY appreciated.

go with the Kenwood. its more power and a better signal response. Jensen amps like to overheat and shutdown into protection mode when their bridged down to one channel. Make sure you have your sub wired right so you can get the amp to run at 2 ohms that will give you the best power out of the amp.
