I just bought a car and purchased the amps and speakers that were already in it. The setup is two JL 10W3 (I'm not sure if they're v2 or what) and a 1000W Bostwick Amp. I've already blown a fuse in the amp once. I don't know if the amp can't handle the subs, or if the tuning of the amp is too high. Does anyone know if this is a good amp and if this is a good setup?
I don't know much about bostwick amps, but i have used their subs and they are well built with a high level of quality. JL is an all-around top name company. Make sure that your settings are not too high on the amp. also, check the major fuse that you have connected on the power wire between the battery and the amp. you may need to get a larger for that.

I have 2 jl audio 500/1 mono block amp, and i was just curious some one who is experience audio installer can tell me how to hook the 2 jl audio amps together.
JL Audio is an awesome product I have JL Audio. Connecting amps is easy run the signal in from your radio to the input RCA's on the first amp, the run another set of RCA's from the output on the first amp to the input of the second amp.
You did not say if you were doing this for one sub or two. If you are using a single sub like a W7 it will be a dual voice coil you can connect each amp to each coil. just be observant of the polarity. The W7 takes a lot of power. now if it is for a pair no problem just hook it up like any other amp install.
If you are running the JL Audio amps and Subs it should sound pretty awesome. I have a pair of 10W3v2 with 250rms watts to each and they hit harder and cleaner than any 12" sub I have own in the past and that includes some MTX thunder 5000's I had. Really impressed with JL Audio.
Good Luck!!!

I'm looking at 2 12in W3V3-4. What are some good brands of amps to look at? I know JL would probably be my best bet, but i just want to weigh my options.

There's three good choices that should all be cheaper than the Kicker or JL amps.
Heavy duty aluminum alloy heatsink for effective heat dissipation
Dimensions: 15-1/2"L x 7-3/4"W x 2-1/8"H
Nickel-plated RCA level inputs
Nickel-plated screw terminals
3-Way System Protection circuitry (thermal, low impedance, and speaker short protection)
what out of this this two amps what will hit harder on 3 subs. each sub is 3200 watts and 1600 rms sub they are hifonics olympus spl.
You have 4800 watts RMS total power handling. Your car doesn't have the power to push 1200 watts RMS.
Just because the subs can handle this doesn't mean you can load an amp right with three subs with the right impedance (ohms).
If your total system power is 1000 watts RMS or more, you will need to:
1. Upgrade the alternator to a high output alternator
2. Upgrade to a heavy duty deep cycle battery
3. Upgrade the "Big 3" - that is to replace the power wire between the battery and alternator, the ground from the battery to the chassis and the ground strap from the engine/tranny to the chassis with at least 1/0 AWG wire.
If your total system power is 800 watts RMS or more, you will need to:
1. Upgrade to a heavy duty deep cycle battery
2. Upgrade the "Big 3"
Failure to do this will result in you replacing them anyway as the alternator will eventually fail.
Here is a guide that will calculate what size alternator and power wires you need http://www.datafilehost.com/download.php ?file=6d26c621
A second battery is never a good idea as it's an added strain on the alternator to charge two batteries AND supply power for the car. The ONLY time a second battery is useful is if the audio system is to be used with the car off.
A cap is only good so far as the audio system isn't trying to pull too much from the electrical system. A cap doesn't provide more power, it's designed to 'stiffen' the voltage to the amp, nothing esle. If the current isn't there, a cap won't help. The alternator must have at least 20% more amperage power than the entire vehicle and sound system combined for a cap to be of benefit which is ironically the same requirements for an amp to be efficient.

do jl audi0 amps shut off to alow them to cool off when they get to hott? and do they get real hot bc im thinkin of gettin a 500/1 amp with a 12w7 and a 450/4 amp and whats the best box the the 12w7
An amp must be in a well ventilated area and not driven to the point of shutdown (too low of ohms on any channel).
The box size/type will be best acquired from the manufacturer of the subs.
